After being sickened by *, this article made my whole darn day worthwhile!
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/9/16/01410/4705

The Ohio secretary of state announced yesterday that a series of election-related constitutional amendments had qualified for the November ballot, including one intended to strip Republican elected officials of their control over drawing legislative districts.

The amendments are sponsored by Reform Ohio Now, a coalition dominated by Democrats, unions and watchdog groups. It celebrated the announcement and said a statewide campaign to win approval in November had begun <...>

Mr. Finan has said the redistricting measure, if approved, could cost Republicans in Ohio 6 of their 12 seats in Congress and would probably inspire similar Democratic-backed efforts in other states dominated by Republicans <...>

The redistricting amendment calls for an independent commission that would replace state lawmakers in determining the boundaries of legislative districts. The other amendments would lower some campaign contribution limits, extend early voting to all voters and transfer oversight of elections to an appointed election master from the secretary of state's office.

10. This is a great amendment. It will revolutionize Ohio. It could do that
to the whole country. Ohio deserves far better than it has. Now is the time for this.

How ironic it is that Kenneth Blackwell, Secretary of State of Ohio and author of the Ohio 2004 tragedy election had to certify the petitions for this amendment.

But he made up for that by recently certifying petitions for an amendment drive headed by an organization that he, Blackwell, heads; thus providing more than enough justification for the clean up Ohio amendment.

11. I just hope that we can be the 'bigger man'
in this situation and try to keep it fair, rather than going the other direction and jury-rigging things to go our way when they shouldn't.
Other than that... woo frikkin' hoo. :) It's about time.

13. It's not OUR style...
but politicians only get where they are by doing whatever they can to get votes. Which isn't always pretty, and tends to corrupt even the best of them seomtimes.

16. We got re-district'ed here in Dayton, they moves the 3rd all around
after * gave Tony Hall (D), a cake DC job to get him out of Dayton.
Now we have a (R)Turner, that lost the Mayor's race the election before to a BLACK LESBIAN!!

I still would like to give Tony Hall a piece of my mind.He left us high and dry here.

Dayton schools look like the ones in Orleans(post Katrina).
