1. I watched the DVD of

"Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" a week or so ago, and when I read the insert, there was an essay by HST about the sorry state of the US in 1969 - it was exactly as if he had written it today, just changing the names of the politicians and the country we're invading.

People yelling at people like us to shut up and "love it or leave it." Intolerance, dissonance, lies from the government, peace-lovers being attacked, all of it was there.

It gave me hope. This old hippie chick refuses to stop.
