Is there a forum for discussing DU Technical or support issues
Edited on Tue Sep-06-05 06:42 PM by Spinzonner
Please forgive if I missed something in the FAQ or if even asking the question is against the rules.

It would be strictly for making suggestions or asking questions that weren't otherwise covered elsewhere.

It would be strictly impermissable to use for compaints or for the kinds of issues that are prohibited in the other forums under the rules such as questionning moderator choices, banning, etc.
The admins would not be obligated or expected to respond or monitor it.

too many people campaigning the mods to follow their whims. or airing complaints they've already brought to the mods. they don't appreciate it.

2. Where is that policy/preference stated ?

Don't you think it might be a little prejudicial to label things as whims without even seeing them first ?

I think my comments excluded any expectation they would be expected to monitor it and that it would be prohibited from use as a forum for complaints - which is already prohibited by the rules elsewhere.

The purpose would be a place to ask questions and even have a pinned FAQ for questions that arise frequently but not covered elsewhere. Also as a user-supplied self-help technical support area.

A moderator could decide what was worthwhile forwarding to the admins - if anything.

4. Thanks, I'm aware of that

But they are busy guys with lots of important things to do keeping things running well.

It's unlikely they are in a position to - or should be expected to - respond within any particular period of time to anything but the most critical of issues, much less questions and suggestions.

And that's not an opportunity to throw ideas around.

Of course, unless there's a prohibition that I haven't seen, its possible to do it in a more general forum such as the lounge or General Discussion. But it seems like such threads would drown in the volume there.
