Seems the Feds cracked down on the media over Katrina coverage...
All of a sudden, all the networks are reporting everything is 'Hunky Dorie' in New Orleans. Maybe the Dept of Homeland Security warned the truth is too damaging for our international image and hence national security and the war in Iraq.

4. Google is NOT a news organization.
Google simply lists what news stories have been published on the web. Nothing more nor less.

10. Amoral? Yes
It's just a computer program that monitors thousands of news sites and works out which news item is the most topical at that moment. There is no human intervention so therefore no bias except towards the most popular stories. It's worth noting (because a lot of people overlook it) that if you don't like a particular angle on a story you can look at similar articles from the different news outlets listed below each news item.

2. Yes, all is well now. No more outburts will be tolerated.
I predicted 48 hours. It's just short of that.

3. Not that I've seen. I don't have cable, but both NBC & CBS morning news
shows had reporters on the ground still almost in tears and describing what they were seeing as "unbelievable".

5. Yep. I saw Rove went to Camp Casey - the freeper version....
so he hasn't been around listening to the news enough. Now that he's back on the beat, he's turning up the heat on the networks again. He should have stayed out of the picture.

We were actually getting some good reporting for a couple of days there, for the most part, and considering the ownership of the news networks.

So, now, it's back to propaganda central. :argh:

8. Rove was with bush during his disgusting photo-op which
coincides with the shut down of most reports out of the area.

6. Even on Fox you see the interesting dichotomy between those on the ground
and those in the booth.

Hannity talking about "but we saw the (PHOTO-OP) trucks, the National Guard" etc., and a tearful Rivera holding up a starving baby to the camera to show the reality. The night of the same day that Bush and the cavalry arrived.

11. My local paper made me want to vomit this morning...
All "Whew, that was no fun, but now it's over and look how happy everyone is!! Our military to the rescue once again!"

And they really made the rescued people who were complaining sound petty and ungrateful.
