Has anyone ever heard of 21st Century Democrats?
I keep getting these very obnoxious, aggressive telemarketing calls from people who say they represent this organization. They rant for a minute about how progressive they are, and how they want to elect Dems to office, and then go on this very off-putting "How much will you be pledging?" I just hung up on one of them, and then looked at the website-- besides the fact that Carville seems to be involved, it tells you very little.

1. They're Legit
They're raising money to send Democratic field workers out to work on various campaigns. Not a bad group, from what I've heard.

3. Thanks, guys!
They need to improve their pitching style-- it makes it sound like a scam.

7. They are a good organization
I would donate. I attended their trainings. They taught me a lot about campaigning and helped connect me to numerous campaign/political jobs.

I went to one of their trainings in June in DC. They were really good to work with. I would donate to them as they actually are doing good things.

They periodically have trainings every few months that teach people campaign skills. I enjoyed it a lot.

From what I know 21st Century Democrats used to be Democrats 2000. Senator Tom Harkin founded the organization in the 1980s. It is indeed a "progressive organization".

The woman who runs the organization is named Kelly Young. She is very nice and is working very hard for it.

Her email is [email protected]

8. Right, They Do Good
"Democratic Boot Camp," if you will. They do lots of training, and they try to act as a farm system for campaign workers, at all levels. State legislative races are critical because they determine redistricting and, thus, everything else, so they do a lot of work on that.
