Kessler AFB
I know there are at least three Air Force bases on the Gulf Coast, not to mention Pensacola Navy base. I was stationed at Kessler and Hurlburt Field. I know Eglin was evacuated so I'm thinking Keesler was also. I was wondering has anyone heard about the damage to these bases? If there was no damage then why didn't they use staff on those bases to help those people. Eglin is the biggest and it has quite a few aircraft, MRE's, medical staff etc. Anyone know about these bases?

2. Someone in Biloxi reported seeing...
military people on base at Keesler lounging around and doing calisthenics.

Very helpful, huh?

3. Keesler suffered extensive damage to its industial and housing
complexes. My son, who is currently in the AF and used to be at Keesler, said the SOP there is to bring the base back up to operational levels, then to go out and help the community.

4. I'm listening to the scanner set up and broadcasting live...
...from there and it looks like Kessler is baseops right now, at least from what I'm hearing. Some VIP is coming for an overflight, will be picked up at Kessler at 1800, if I recall. The military/police cannot get through to land lines so they're having to broadcast everything over the radio.
