He'd "say anything just to get elected", huh? We need a list of BUSH...
... quotes, BEFORE and AFTER elected.

In my mind, this is a commercial that could singlehandedly knock Bush out of office.

Start with a clip of one of Bush's MANY times he said (about Gore) that "this is a man who will do anything, and say anything, just to get elected". Then say "was Bush talking about his opponent, or himself?"

Then show various clips of Bush statements, before & after the election, that demonstrate he, in fact, said any number of things "just to get elected".

I'd start with the "no nation building"... contrasted with Bush asking for 87 billion for the reconstruction of Iraq (some quote that used the word "reconstruction" or "build"; I think there were several in his speech asking for the $87B).

Then the quote regarding the idea that we shouldn't be "an arrogant nation", followed by something to the effect of Bush snubbing the U.N. and the world.

Anyone have any actual before/after quotes?

1. Go to google
and see if you can find the Bush v. Bush debate done by the Daily Show a while back. It's dead-on and hilarious too.

That vis is exactly what you're looking for.

5. Yeah, I remember that. Stewart should sell the rights to the DNC.
In that respect, the idea isn't really mine. But it's really obvious to anyone who watched the "arrogant nation", "no nation building" debate, and then sat through the first 2 years of the Bush administration.

He also said things like "we won't dump nuclear waste in Nevada", and "we will pursue a 4-pollutant strategy" (as in including CO2, as in Kyoto Protocol).

He, not Gore, "said anything just to get elected". I know the list is endless, but I guess I'm just looking for a list of quotes, before and after, that demonstrate how he has done nearly the opposite of everything he said during the campaign. I KNOW there must be some sources out there that have compiled them.

Anyone?

4. Don't have the exact quote, but...
BEFORE: Tax cuts justified on the basis that the surplus meant the government was taking in too much money, so part of that could be returned without causing deficits.

AFTER: Tax cuts will stimulate the economy, and deficit spending isn't such a bad thing.
