1. Some of them condemned it... according to NY Times.
Others are remaining silent.

And where are our DEMS?

3. I'm not sure I understand what you mean
Do you think there's a some doubt that our Democratic leaders would support assassination? Some question as to whether they would line up behind Pat Robertson?

I mean they are spineless a lot of the time, but are they really that spineless?

11. I really don't know. That's why they should speak up.
If they can rationalize this demented war, they can rationalize anything, seems to me.

After all, Chavez is friendly w. Castro, and we live in the real world, and where do you think the gas that you put in your car comes from and Bolivia has trouble w. leftist insurgents and.....etc. etc. etc.

7. Of course they have been saying revulsive things about Pat...
but who listens? who prints their shit? Not the Pub Media for sure..

The focus is Pat, not our Dem Leaders...

If they so weak, then we change the bastards, kick um out...

weaken our side of the equation in the process? Maybe...on the other hand,

We may see a strengthening of the Dem Party by a cleansing of the old SOBs who remain silent or vote the wrong way on this or that. But where do we find the replacements? and would we be risking bringing in closet Pubs like ZELL? Stealth Pubs in DEM Drag?

LOL, come, e komo mai inu, we go drink....:toast:

9. And even if that were true,
If a private citizen said "We should take out the President and Secretary of Defense," I'm confident that he'd have awakened the next morning in a burlap sack at Gitmo.

28. Pat Robertson deserted his command during Korean War.
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 11:34 AM by Octafish
Marion "Pat" Robertson was a 90-day wonder, a freshly minted United States Marine Corps 2nd Lieutenant, in command of a platoon heading toward the fighting in Korea.

While still aboard the troop transport, Pat Robertson told his fellow officers his daddy, a US Senator from Virginia, was going to pull some strings and get his son's sorry arse off the ship when it pulled into Yokohama.

The other Marine officers thought he was joking, but, sure enough, when the boat pulled away for its next destination on the Korean peninsula, Pat was on the dock with his sea bag, waiving bye-bye.

Most of the men went on to get killed or wounded, including the source of the above story, Republican Congressman Pete McCloskey of California.

BTW: Pat Robertson, in Japan, became known as the Liquor Officer:

There's more on the unctuous turd:

14. Compare with Khalid Muhammad...
When a former Nation of Islam (cleric? official?)-- someone pretty obscure at the national level -- made anti-semitic remarks as part of his speech at some small colleges, Congress made a motion to express their disgust and any black member of Congress who didn't vociferously condemn him fast enough, and repeat it at the snap of a finger was denounced as "soft on" anti-semitism.

Since Congressional Republicans made that the Gold Standard of the Expression of Outrage at indefensible speach, I'm snappin' my fingers.
So far the only one answering are crickets.
