Anyone seen pictures of "The Ranch"?
I've seen the farm road leading to it from pictures of Sheehan. But I don't believe it's ever been pictured that I've seen.

I can completely understand that these might be held close for security reasons, but was just wondering.

I'm gonna try googling after this.

I'm still curious what type of house he has out there...if it's a sprawling mansion or an actual "ranch".

2. That's Orwellian right there..
"Prairie Chapel Ranch". Like something an Orwellian murderer would name his pig farm.

In order to be officially called a ranch, you need to raise some animals. And Barney doesn't count.

Reframe- bush estate not bush ranch. Or his Midland Texas estate. better yet the (bush) crawford estate. Any variation could work. If you insist on calling it a ranch, call it a Potemkin ranch.

I just read it had been a turkey and pig farm...very appropriate and it said the barns had been removed. Maybe they call it a ranch because the house is all on one level.

Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 12:31 PM by progressivebydesign
.. and they were shooting the show on his lake. If you saw the houses around the lake, you'd realize he owns Kennebunkport West, NOT the Ponderosa. It was not rustic in the least...

Oh wait.. on edit: I realize NOW that they call his ELEVEN ACRE lake a "pond". How quaint. It's huge.

27. blue blood connecticut?--the show has been going on for a long time.
the bushes are more like connecticut NOUVEAU RICH .

PRESCOTT BUSH WAS A NATIVE OF COLUMBUS OHIO who, through connections made at YALE advanced himself in social standing, political power, and personal wealth.

Samuel Bush, Prescott's father, was in the steel (maker or railroad parts) industry in Columbus Ohio.

Through his son's YALE connections, Samuel Bush was appointed director of the Facilities Division of the War Industries Board.

It was through these connections and war profiteering that the bushes eventually ended up in CONNECTICUT passing themselves off as BLUE BLOOD.

it is funny funny in the sense of weird THAT to protect them
records their records always seem to disappear and they have a penchant for secrecy, war profiteering and making records disappear... it is a bush tradition which goes all the way back to Samuel Bush.

and while i may be saying here nothing that you do not know already,
you may want to check a lot of the bush family history at

Uses photovoltaics and other environmental friendly tech.

Of course no one in America is supposed to actually use that shit on a widespread basis, it might actually lower our dependence on foreign oil. :eyes:

I remember wondering if it was Laura's idea.

17. It used to be PIG farm, and isn't really a "ranch" by any means.
The house looked terrible, the times I remembered seeing it in the press. I figured maybe they were trying to play it like it they were "regular people from Texas" even though he's a multi-millionaire, ivy-league educated, spoiled frat boy from the East.

It's all an illusion. He bought the pig farm in 1999 as he was gearing up for his run for Prez.

19. I found some pix - one from the White House archives of the
inside of a house on 'the ranch' -

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=1984759

they renovated an old farm house, according to one article I read - it's got to be that house Laura is in . . .

The new big house bush built has a 10 foot porch wrapped around it 'like a moat' - the house in the pix I found looks like an old renovated house ... can't fine any of the big house

The White House website has numerous pix of bush outside at 'the ranch' - nothing of the abode though

32. I read an interview once with his neighbor and he said what you
see in the photo ops is actually his ranch, with the rolls of hay, etc., because Bush wouldn't have any reason at all to have hay. You'll notice that everyone uses the same spot when they're on air. The man is a total fraud in everything.
