ok, is the record of "attack Iraq" lies getting scrubbed?
I bookmarked one of countless superb threads by LynnTheDem on the lies that led our nation to slaugher 100,000+ Iraqis and bing upon them and us and the people we've put in the middle the shame and horror of what's been done. I was looking to respond to a really good guy who's still in the "bush is god" delusion, and his remark to an email group we both subscribe to, that bush didn't lie, specifically about the Niger claims. We know he did, and the proof is so evident.

So I went back to this thread I'd bookmarked by Lynne, to get a link or two, and found the truth not so out there.

Here's what I went looking for a link to:

-------------------
OCTOBER 2002 – CIA DIRECTLY WARNS WHITE HOUSE

"The CIA sent two memos to the White House in October voicing strong doubts about a claim President Bush made three months later in the State of the Union address that Iraq was trying to buy nuclear materials in Africa."
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/nation/636209...
---------------------

but the link relsuts in, after you register, a "The requested article was not found." page.

So I googled it, and found many references This, evidently , was from a Washington Post article. So I went to look for that link, and I found it.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&contentId=A31597-2003Jul22¬Found=true

What's there? This:

--------

Bush Aides Disclose Warnings From CIA
Oct. Memos Raised Doubts on Iraq Bid

By Dana Milbank and Walter Pincus
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, July 23, 2003; Page A01

----------

That's it. That's all that's there.

The original article is missing.

:wtf:

1. Online Newspapers ...

Few mainstream online newspapesr keep their articles online for more than a few months. My local paper doesn't have anything in the free area more than few days old.

Some, like the NYT (and possibly the WP) offer access to archives of older articles for a fee.

2. The newspapers themselves archive articles
