Pres. Election 08 poll : Clinton & Kerry not doing too well in survey
I apologize if people have already seen this poll....

It's rather early BUT this might show that Clinton and Kerry are NOT the candidates for us in 2008..... (not that I have to convince a lot of people here of that - lol!)

http://www.pollingreport.com/2008.htm

Zogby Poll:

If the election for president of the United States were held today and the candidates were Republican John McCain and Democrat , for whom would you vote?" N=1,000 likely voters, MoE ± 3.2

John McCain 54%
Hillary Clinton 35%
Unsure 11%

6/20-22/05

John McCain 55%
Hillary Clinton 35%
Unsure 10%

30. He probably looked like the frontrunner back in 1997 too
Three years later he was not. A lot can change between now and 2008.

6. Amazing.
So she'll appease the Repugs even more in an attempt to counteract the attacks.

Appeasement doesn't work. Hillary loses against *any* Repug.

early polls.

8. McCain is a moderate
who many moderate democrats would consider voting for. That's why HC's #'s are so low. But there is no way McCain will get the nomination.

I might consider for more than 3 seconds.

21. I'm an Independent
If McCain had run against Gore, I would have considered voting for him. Now? FORGET IT. I will not vote for a man who kissed Bush's ass in the the last election; especially, given the way Bush tried to smear him. McCain has no scruples as far as I am concerned. Mark my words. McCain will not get the Independent voters anymore.

I am not happy with my Senator, who I voted for, either. Athough, if it is choice between her and McCain, I will vote for Hillary.

26. I disagree
Most people I know really like McCain.............. beyond independents, democrats too. I agree with you, but the general public doesn't pay that close attention to things and I think he is very well regarded among people. I wish the world was more interested!

I think he would have a hard time winning the nomination (unless a ton of indies registered to vote Republican in the primaries........... and that is a hard thing to imagine), but if he did get the nomination he would be pretty tough to beat.

of the rat-fucking bushCo. gave McCain down south in '00. They're not aware that he kissed bush's ass in '04 either and what that quid pro quo was for, or even that there IS a quid pro quo for that matter.

I think (and I really wish I didn't believe this) people view him as that "maverick" on tv (as he's always referred as) who doesn't take any Bull shit. I don't think many people have given much thought (or even noticed) his blatant ass kissing

,the Climate Stewardship Act, so he is not a total dork. That is why I fear him. I just think he is too feeble to mount a campaign.

recognition for both Clinton and McCain (he's on just about every Sunday show!). Fortunately the repukes have primaries this time too and like night follows day they will do to each other what they do to the dems.

Neither Kerry or Clinton would stand a snowball's chance in hell against anyone the Republicans put up. Hillary would loose by more than John, by a long shot.

18. The ticket will be for Prez Hillary, V.Pres McCain
The centrist will say she wants to mend the country. The polls will be taken and skewed, the vote will occur and the results will reflect the deal that was made prior to NAFTA.

Just my opinion, not based on any facts I know, just assumption.

27. Bullshit.........
I'm not going to have another god-damned DLC candidate rammed down my throat again. I'm not having some wimp-assed Republican who hasn't a shred of dignity left, either.

It's apparent that Hillary is the DLC sanctioned nominee for '08 already. It's also quite clear that McCain's kissy-face with bush in campaign '06 was a quid pro quo. He's going to get the GOP nod. After what bushCo. did to him on '00, I have NO respect for him anymore.

If this is what we're going to be stuck with in '08, a third party candidate is going to have to come forward. And NOT that god-damned retread Nader, either.

Shit, can't we just concentrate on cutting the cancer out of our government now and wait a bit for worrying about '08?

Same for McCain (or any Republican) vs Kerry. I wore my nose out voting for Kerry in '04.

37. Well, Clinton and Kerry are certainly not the candidates for ME.
If one of them is all we get, forget it.

In any case, I think it's pointless to worry about 2008. If we haven't managed to loosen the rightwing stranglehold on the country before then, it's just not going to matter -- the U.S. will be fully fascist by then.
