Beheading question.....
Now, I certainly do not what them to resume, but is it me, or has anyone else noticed that they have appeared to have stopped. And if they have stopped, what is the reason?

Has anyone heard of an explanation? I'm glad they have seemed to have stopped, but am curious as to why.

1. This is a good question ...
I've wonder myself at times. Wish I had a real answer, but I don't, not one that isn't :tinfoilhat: stuff anyway.

Welcome to DU, btw. :hi:

2. Haven't stopped...
... beheaded body was found in the desert in the last week or ten days. Don't know if it's been identified yet.

3. I've noticed that, too.
I think it goes along with any other terror device that has been used: anthrax, bombings, kidnappings, etc. Any time you want to get the general public to be fearful, trot out another form of terror. I expect to many other forms in the future. Gotta keep us cattle on our toes!

Just my $.02

:hi:

4. Gross.
Just gross. What would prompt you to say such a thing?

6. Do you mean my question?
If so, I'm not trying to be offensive or gross, but trying to find out if they have changed their tactics and if so, why? For example, did the beheadings anger other Muslims or are they still going on and the media is not reporting them?

Or have they discovered more effective terror tactics and we are a step behind.

Or even more sad, are they still going on and the world's attention span has caused us to move on because we have been desensitized towards them.

7. Welcome to DU!
Maybe it isn't the right time for the Bush Admin and MSM to use the topic? They have other diversions at the moment, but I suppose they will focus on it again when they need that particular diversion.

10. what is the point?
beheading is a strong message, something intended to shock even the most strong willed, but what is the point, when children are being raped in Abu Ghraib, in order to get their parent to "confess", when it is already known that the parent is probably innocent anyway...
There is no point where the "terrorist" can go that is lower than where the Bush administration hasn't already gone

12. Bad PR--they generated more disgust amongst Muslims than they
generated fear in Westerners.
