I feel like the only sane character in a bad sci-fi movie
You know the type of movie where one character knows what's really going on, and tries to tell everyone, and is dismissed as a kook and a nut, and then everyone figures it out but its too late? That's how I'm feeling about Bush today.

Where the fuck were these people before the war when we were telling them he was lying? I knew the SOTU was a pack of lies the minute it came out of his god damn ape mouth, and I told everyone I knew, and they all just ignored it. Now they're saying they don't trust Bush "in light of new evidence"?

It's not like this information was given to a select few of us, it was widely available to anyone who had the presence of thought to actually LOOK SOMETHING UP instead of letting the media spoonfeed their news to them.

I'm trying really hard not to be mad at these people, but everytime I hear a new voice saying they were "misled", I have to bite my tongue to stop the tirade.

1. Good analogy. I don't, however, let the "misled" get by with it -
I tell them no, you were NOT misled, you were lied to! And if you weren't so stuck on Faux News, you'd have known that months ago!

3. I know the feeling.
It's frustrating, isn't it? Sometimes, after being on DU, reading various newpaper articles, and just using a touch of common sense, I walk into a room where t.v. news is on. There is absolutely no relation to reality on the air.

I never thought of myself as being of more than average intelligence, but after seeing what this country has become in the last 2 years or so, I feel like a freakin' genius. There is so much stupidity and ignorance apparent, that I end up just shaking my head, and wondering how anyone can fall for Bush and his lies.

5. I feel the same

I think of myself as a little bit of a flaky person and not so great at logic. I read a lot, but think I have just average intelligence. When I try to figure things out, it's like you can hear slow-grinding gears. But I always think when I see the news, "Don't people have eyes and ears? Can't they see a little bit beneath the surface?"

7. That sinking feeling?
I think it can be chalked up to apathy in general. I have a couple of freeper friends that still say "He's our boy" and "Great Job Bush". They won't debate politics because they're out of ammunition for debates. As monsterously hung he was, Clinton's dick only goes so far as a hot button issue. People disregard what's going on because they'd have to admit fault. Better to be on the winning side (no matter how the race was run) than be on the correct side. And lastly, people believe what they see on the news. With Faux, and CNN working for Chemical Ari (That chemical being bile), the current junta didn't need to work hard on the spin until recently. The media did the lying for them.

Raindaze.

You'd think that after Bush stole the election and all that went on in Florida that people would figure that he was trouble.

8. I feel like William Shatner's character in the Twilight Zone
episode where he's on an airplane and is the only one who sees the monster on the wing. He tries to warn everyone that the monster's trying to rip the engine off but no one else sees it.

Last weekend I spent some time with a repuke friend trying to get some of the truth across. Had he ever seen the picture of Rummy shaking Saddam's hand? "No."
Did he know that the chimp continued reading a book to schoolchildren after being told the country was under attack? "No, he wouldn't do that. And if he did he did it for a good reason."
Has he ever heard of PNAC? "No."
How does he feel about being lied to about wmd's? "They'll be found. I love Bush. Aren't you glad he was President on 9-11?"
Does he know that Cheney still collects a million a year from Halliburton? "No."
Does he know about Prescott Bush's Nazi ties? "No. But George HW Bush is my personal political hero."

He heard me out, but I could tell he was about to call the guys in the white coats to come and get me. The monster's on the wing, all right, but the American people aren't looking out the window.
