The Point is They Lied about going to War
http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/opinion/12173904.htm

Attacking an opponent's wife is standard operating procedure for Rove. Have Republicans actually convinced themselves that he wouldn't do such a thing? Sometimes party loyalty asks too much.

Actually, we are missing the point here. The point being that Joseph Wilson is merely one of the many people who provided one of the by now innumerable pieces of evidence that this administration lied about why we went to war in Iraq. When former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill wrote that Bush planned to invade Iraq from the day he took office, the administration went after O'Neill. When Richard Clarke disclosed that Bush wanted to use Sept. 11 to go after Saddam Hussein from Sept. 12 on, they went after Clarke. They went after Gen. Anthony Zinni, they went after Gen. Eric Shinseki and everyone else who opposed the folly or told the truth about it. After they got done lying about weapons of mass destruction and about connections to al-Qaida, they switched to the stomach-churning pretense that we had done it all for democracy. Urp.

3. The other point is that they lied about not being able to find
another way to save corporate America's economy. Economically infesting another sovereign nation by force will bring its own rewards.

4. Three seperate Investigations costing Middle Class
Taxpayers millions to search for nothing.

Thousands of deaths and mutilations, destruction of Iraq and misery so that Saddam couldn't sell oil via Euros. I am sure that the people that supported this illegal invasion and now support the Occupation feel it was worth it.

6. The Iraqi civilians weren't "collateral damage" they were
accidentally murdered... murdered for cancellation of French and Russian oil contracts.... and American control of Iraqi oilfields. This is the simple truth... and it sucks.

7. AND YET, and this is really important
Partisan cheerleaders demand that we all line up behind the DLC, who supported the Invasion and attacked those who opposed it, and STILL support the "mission", demanding more troops, despite the Generals claim that the military is stretched to the breaking point...Where exactly does that leave the opposition in challenging the crimes of this Administration?

Instead we hear that we are purists, or too angry, or that we must face reality or that no politician is perfect - when the damn reality is we can't even get through the defense lines of our own side to face off against the other.

8. And that is the damn REALITY- yet these clueless kneejerk
Cheerleaders will go right back to their refrains despite the mounting evidence....and we wonder how people can be so blind to support Bush against their own interests. You may say,"What is it gonna take to open their eyes", but I say to you, faithful Democratic partisan,"what is it gonna take to open yours?"

9. Yes, what was that about hats?
Edited on Wed Jul-20-05 06:31 AM by sweetheart
"...what we've come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts.
One: people are not wearing enough hats.
Two: matter is energy. In the universe, there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person's soul. However, this soul does not exist ab initio, as orthodox Christianity teaches. It has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved, owing to man's unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.

12. If The American People Would Read Between The Lines...
...they would fully realize that Bush was LYING when he said "going to war is the last option."

Traitorgate is case in point. If Bush were really telling the truth, the administration would've welcomed Wilson's information about the forged documents. "Whew! Thanks, Joe. You don't know how close we were to killing 100k Iraqis. Thank God you learned what you did."

Instead, they chose to shoot the messenger. Doesn't sound much like a President who wants a peaceful resolution. Sounds like a man who wants only to go to war.

It's been said before, and I'll say it again...

BUSH LIED...PEOPLE DIED.
