must see documentary Purple Hearts: Back from Iraq (free online link)
http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-bin/streams?/tv/vpro/tegenlicht/sb.20041003.rm

Dutch documentary maker Roel van Broekhoven, inspired by Nina Berman's photo essay Purple Hearts: Back from Iraq, travels to America to visit 3 wounded veterans to tell the story behind the photo's.
It is a extremely intimate portrayal of these soldiers and a damning indictment of this war and the administration that took them there and neglected them afterwards.
What makes it so powerfull is the skill of the cameraman and the way the interviewer takes backstage and doesnt editorialise.
There is no blood and gore,no slick message or tv personalities.
watch it if you haven't yet.

1. TY, sending out to my networks; Copyright??
Thank you very much for posting this; I did watch it. I am recommending it and sent it out to my networking. Question comes up, is there a copyright issue or problem in circulating it? Some will want to network the link amongst their own groups and online website activities.

military family here, with 2 returned Iraq veterans facing second deployments Iraq under Stop Loss.

2. copyright but free to watch online,so sending out the link is fine.
I'm glad you did ask because its a important question,i did try to make it clear that it was "free" and paid for by taxpayers. But it is copyrighted so i don't think saving it to your harddisk for anything but personal use would be allowed. Sending the link to the film to your network is fine. This dutch TV network has been putting almost all its programs online for free as a service (which dutch taxpayers pay for).

I feel for you and the stress you must be under because of your family situation, must have been hard to watch. It was very emotional for me and i dont have the same personal connection to this story that you do.
The voices of these men and their families need to be heard so i'm glad you are circulating it and i hope more people do.
