Heh, so typical of a debate with a freeper type
From another board, freeper type posts:

We were encouraged last year when the Senate vowed to fund 2,000 additional Border Patrol agents and space for 8,000 more illegal-alien detainees. Thursday, however, the Senate reneged. The upper chamber's passage of the Homeland Security spending bill funded only 1,000 new agents and space for only 2,240 additional detainees. Last-minute amendments to restore funding to promised levels both failed -- thanks in part to a vote cast by Hillary Clinton, who made her latest political splash with tough comments against illegal immigration. John Kerry, ..., and possible '08 presidential contender Joe Biden, also voted against the amended increases.

----------------------

I respond:

I suppose you are talking about the ammendment proposed my McCain?

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d109:73:./temp/~bdYOg9::

That wasn't voted on, it was withdrawn.

Or was it this one, where they wanted to take money from "the Office of State and Local Government Coordination and Preparedness to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection for the purpose of hiring 1,000 additional border agents and related expenditures." Which was rejected by a voice vote, which of course means not just Clinton or Kerry voted against it since the Republicans hold the majority.

Perhaps you could be a little more specific?

-------------------

Several others respond a bit, no response from the original poster. I post:

Well, until Fist tells us what he's talking about, we just don't know now, do we? There are TONS of ammendments proposed, and a bunch of knuckleheads misrepresenting them and the subsequent votes on them. Most, like Fist, have no idea what they are talking about, yet just repeat the crap they get from their 'newsletters'.

--------------

And then here's FINALLY his response:

I'm sorry you lack the background information to understand my posts. Please don't blame me, I don't have the time to educate you.

-----------

Egads folks!

2. Shame on you for trying to cloud the issue with facts
As we all know, you can use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true. The original freeper was just trying to trash Clinton and Kerry -- no facts are needed, didn't you know that?

5. I've seen that tactic a million times.
They try to cover their ignorance by claiming superior intelligence.

I ran into that a couple of years ago debating a freeper about public education. He kept claiming that the government had no right to make him pay for the education of other people's children. I pointed out the numerous documents such as the Constitution, the Northwest Ordinance, etc. that give states the power to fund schools. I was told that people like me are ruining the country because we don't know anything about our history or founding fathers. Then I was called a communist.

I then proceeded to post quotes from Jefferson, Lincoln, Reagen, Bush I, and * supporting public education, and asked him if they were also communists. He never responded.

6. I'm not expecting a response either
I posted:

Lmao, you gotta do better than that fist. You made the claim, now back it up with which vote you are talking about. I provided two possibilities, was it one of those?

So far nothing, and I don't expect there will be anthything. Typical bullshit.

7. This reminds me of the spin during the election
When they tried to claim Kerry "voted against Defense" xx amount of times, and they gave an official looking list of all the bill numbers. But if you actually looked them up, which they were counting on you NOT doing, you would see that it was stuff like he voted to move money from the defense budget to anti-terrorism measures in the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing.
