Until 2003 Hardwick and Lawerence were sex offenders
Both were convicted of conscentual sodomy with other adult males. Oscar Wilde was a sex offender as were the people at Stonewall. My point in posting this is to point out that sex offender doesn't equal child molester or rapist.

In the lifetimes of many on this board dating people of the opposite race was a sex offence. Emmit Till even got lynched for it.

As liberals we should always worry if governments try to segregate undersireable people. After all, people who we consider very desirable now, were undesirable a mere couple of generations ago.

It is by the grace of God and through the incredible work of some early sex offenders that I am no longer a law breaker in North Carolina and 13 other states. Keeping that in mind, I feel that once people serve their sentences, including probation and parole, they should be received back as the full citizens they are. But even those who don't beleive that of molesters and rapists, just remember, that for a significant part of the population I am at least as bad as them, and for a smaller number of the population, Emmit Till is too. You might think the line being drawn today is great, but what is to stop the people who drew the earlier lines from picking up a pen and drawing them anew?

1. Honestly. It's not that hard.
The same kind of thinking that keeps sex offenders out of hurricane shelters is the same kind of thinking that doesn't mind muslims being locked up in dog cages in Guantanamo.

2. That definitely is their agenda...
The anti-gay brigade isn't bashful about it either, with many saying the repeal of the sodomy law was a huge mistake. When you have a group of zealots who believe something to be an "abomination," anything is possible.
