OK, it's time for everyone to incorporate
Since corporations now officially have MORE rights than citizens and unincorporated businesses, we may as well get with the program. Time to get your name trademarked and make an IPO. If you go bankrupt, you'll have access to Chapter 11. You'll be able to protect your premises from "knock&talk" searches. If you claim a net loss, you won't owe any income taxes. Meanwhile, LGBTs could bypass the whole "gay marriage" debate and just set up limited liability partnerships.

The corporation is the new family.

4. LLC seems to be the only way to go
Especially if your business is small.

Guess I should look into renewing my license and getting back to work.

7. Go for it, it's the only way to reclaim your rights
Labor unions should re-form as corporations, too.

9. Hmm, that's got a certain appeal to it
I'd want to wait until the regulations on tax-exempt organizations making political speech are lifted before making that leap, but there is a definite upside to being a Pope (or Lama, or Mullah, or whatever you're goin' with).

10. truly good point
This is very true, corporations have more rights and can get away
even with murder under the corporation logo (chemical spill India, Ecuador ruination of the environment, unsafe vehicles and so on)...

11. We had to set up an LLC to qualify for Health Insurance last year!
otherwise we would be paying $25,000 a year for two of us with our small business. I think you can hide income and stuff with LLC's buying property, etc... We aren't interested in getting into that, but not a bad idea for folks to do if they have any side business or part time where you contract out or provide services outside your regular job.

12. You should post this on its own thread, spell out some details
You did THE SMART THING, and walked through one of the only gates left open to those of us still interested in having the US government protecting our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

How did you make the decision, what was the turning point?

What hurdles did you face, how did you overcome them?

What other benefits -- besides the health insurance qualification -- do you find that you now enjoy?

Did your relationship with the local or state Chamber of Commerce change at all?

13. long done
As well, there are "offshore companies" (search engine topic) that can
offer tremendous benefit if you do any work abroad. As the income
from abroad, if "parked" offshore can be not repatriated, not taxed,
and used abroad. Can't be 'em... join em.

14. Let's All Form a DU Corporation
Band together, get group corporation rates for health insurance, be able to take over city blocks or entire small towns through eminent domain, et cetera.
