Who else is sick of NPR's daily pro-war moments?
I listen to the radio quite a bit as I do not watch television. I have notice for some time that NPR news programs have a mandatory pro-war report every single day.

While this usually comes in the form of some kind of "life of the troops" report there are also many reports about how this or that tactic is slowly gainging ground. Or maybe it's the report of the generous troops building schools and hospitals.

Of course there is never, ever, ever an equivalent amount of time given to the substantial number of people who are opposed to the war. Reports of anti-war protests, even when tens of thousands show up, get mere mentions. It is telling that in the United States, the most liberal broadcast media available to the vast majority of citizens can barely mention that there is any opposition to the war. EVEN WHEN THOSE OPPOSING THE WAR ARE A MAJORITY!!!

America has truly gone down a dark path.

2. Caving in to the BFEE is no reason.
of course getting their funding from Monsanto, Archer Danials Midland and Haliburton doesn't help.

NPR used to give at least a slightly left of center veiw every day along with the corporate pap. Now it's National rePublican Radio.

4. War is Good
Sign up now and we'll increase your families chocco ration.

I understand the newswroom rational behind doing vignettes on the troops.

But the entire We Are There Doing Good theme is myopic and ultimatley propogandic.

Their new boss, the one who shit-canned Bob Edwards, came to National Propaganda Radio from the VOA.

Yep, the Gubbmint-funded, Yankee-Doodle-playing "This is the Voice of America, Signing ON..." Propaganda blowtorch from Washington DC....

Oh, I know, they pride themselves on being "impartial", but lemme tell ya a lil story...

Back in the early 70's I was listening to them over at a friend's house, and they announced a contest they were having. first prize was a "$400 shortwave receiver, like most Americans own and enjoy"...

*I* didn't have any $400 shortwave receiver...Outside of stuff from Collins and Drake, I didn't know of anyone who was making a $400 RX...

A little bit of "truth stretching", to let the folks overseas know how fucking rolling in dough us simple happy Murkans were in the Land of Coca-Cola....
