The Solution to the Problem
I'm sorry to the posters who have posted in my "OK Guys, the war is getting to me" board. I got blocked by the government server. Here is my solution to the "getting it out" problem:

My request is this. I would like to chronicle the events that are, and are about to go down. When I complete the process I will then write an article about military injustice, and the effects of the war on troops. All that I ask is some form of outlet that will be read! I would like nothing more than to tell my own story to avoid confusion and frusteration, and on a more selfish level to promote my work on a broader scale. I'm only 20,and want to be a player in the cause. I want to be the Kerry of my generation, but with a pen instead of a voice.

Just let me write, and I will be happy.

Can this be done?

1. If you write it and post it here, I promise you I will do all I can to ...
... contact everyone I know, send them the URL to your post, and encourage them to read it.

Peace.

2. Me also! You'll get tons of support from DU!
Just say the word, or words! We are also curious as to what's going down over there because of the lack of news we get from overseas. We still don't know how any military voted. So we're here to listen and help!

3. DU is a *real* free speech zone, with the special quality of amplifying
the ideas that resonate with the community.

You're in a good place. Best wishes.

5. Just write it and post it.
No need to be dramatic about it. ;)

6. I have, and so does the nation have the need to be dramatic!

Subtleness doesn't get us anywhere. There has to be pins, needles, knives and anything that can be poked into this huge elephant sitting on the hill in D.C. I'm not a subtle person, clearly I speak my mind regardless of certain peril, and this is not an exception!

7. Fine, but the Internet is a funny place sometimes.

Anonymous people appear out of nowhere with bold promises to shake things up, and there are always people ready to believe anything. My advice to you is to just post what's on your mind.

But of course, if you want to get a whole bunch of people excited over hints of big things to come, whether you've got the goods or not, don't listen to me. You seem to be doing well enough on your own. ;)

PS: Pardon my skepticism, but if the govt. server blocked your posting in that other thread, how did it allow you to start this new one? And what's with the Ayn Rand signature?

9. The internet is tricky
And so is life, but we get nowhere without ambition, burt. I know I am "young and dumb", but that's where we get our sense of purpose in life. It's the foundation on which we build in our more mature and smarter years.

You are right, I'm doing good on my own because I keep my head up. My head is up because I am proud, confident, and secure in what I am and what I want to get done in life. I'm not getting people excited here, I'm simply making them aware of something they aren't aware of on a daily basis, yet I AM. These things need to be leaked out into the mainstream so idiots can see what the fuck is going on behind closed doors.

10. I'm a born skeptic, what can I say?
I'm getting a lot of sense of promise, but no strong sense of anything to back it up yet.

11. Give me a couple of weeks
To go to hell and back and I will get back to you. You will be the first person I email my work to so you can see for yourself. I'm not being a smartass here, just making a blind committment.

13. I'm curious as well about your Rand quote.
Please don't be discouraged by skepticism. I'm not trying to be insensitive, just honest.

14. My Rand Quote?
Even though Rand is a strong right wing idol, I still admire her work on the Fountainhead. It's a quote, I leave it at that.

12. Write.
As much and as often as possible.
We will make your voice heard.
PLEASE be careful. Trolls are very sly, if you get a pm or if someone asks you a question that just doesn't feel right, let me or someone else know. Don't answer anything that could compromise your safety.

15. Same applies on the internet than in the real world
It's funny. You don't know if the bum on the street collects change during the day, then goes to black tie functions in a Mercedes at night. What a cruel world.
