Back at DU...thanks to Dean
I left DU after the November elections, a heart-broken Dem. I was so disappointed in Kerry for what I perceived as him "rolling over" and not even having the decency to address his loyal supporters other than in some phoney-baloney mass email.

But I am back now thanks to the recent comments by Chairman Dean. He has truly given me renewed faith that maybe - just maybe - the Dems can actually locate a spine after all. I sent him an email today, and am feeling good to be back at DU with all you great people. I've missed you! :grouphug:

That being said I have a question for you all: is anyone else a bit peeved that a lot of the Dems on the Hill seem to be more vocal about denouncing Dean's comments than all the BS Shrub has been up to lately (how about this "softening" of the global warming report)??

Peace and democracy,
Melissa

2. Hi and Welcome Back-I too went into a deep depression after
the election and could not post for many months. I know how you are feeling. Dean is energizing to say the least. I hope he keeps giving them hell like Galloway did to the Senate. Need to shake things up.....

3. Please note who ISN'T bashing Dean
Who gave money when Dean became chair to welcome him. Who's PAC mirrors Dean's own efforts with the grassroots.

I'm just sayin'. Not so phoney baloney, really.

4. I know, I know...
And that being said, I'd just like to say I still get a little choked up watching Going Upriver. I just believe Kerry in 2004 could have and should have been the Kerry of the Vietnam-era.

10. I feel just as you do.
And I just sent an Attaboy! email about Dean to the DNC, too. I don't know what game the shithead Dems who are denouncing him think they are playing, but Dean is playing to the base and we are lovin it.

17. Here's the problem
the enthusiasm isn't translating into money. The RNC is outraising the DNC, big time. And the name of the game, I hate to say, is money.

19. The R's always outraise the Dems. But Dean has raised the most of ANY
Dem chairman in the same timeframe. And he's building the farm team, with his outreach effort to state and local Dems. Who love him, BTW. I'll go with the reach out to the grassroots, myself. Look what reaching out to corporate money has done for the DLC. Made them Republican lite. No thanks!

30. I thought a DU'er totally debunked the "not raising money" meme
Edited on Thu Jun-09-05 04:44 PM by Straight Shooter
It was on the home page just a few days ago.

It doesn't matter how much money you raise if you spend it honestly. Now, let's take a little look at what's going on in Ohio over *cough* campaign contributions to bush/cheney, shall we?

Welcome to DU.

35. RNC always has more money than DNC......that's why, if dems
have money the repubs always yell that it's illegal or try to shut it off....... like trying to shut down union PACs or moveon

that's why they complained so much about dem fundraising in 96: dems had money, THEREFORE they got it illegally

basically repubs have never thought any dem should have any money, especially to campaign with

that's also why the intense attacks on wealthy dems....they either got the money illegally or they're crazy because in the 'real world' money=republican

5. Yes, yes, yes. I was very angry when the dems didn't back him
but you have to understand. They RUN from controversy - they have no spines. Dean does and apparnetly, that scares the others. I personally love Dean

9. I know exactly what you mean ...
I was sick for three days after the elections.

And, if some of the dems on the hill fought as hard for our interests as they do criticizing Dean and preaching how we have to work with the repukes for two-party cooperation, we wouldn't be losing jobs, have more affordable health care, environments better protected, not to mention the nauseating war and lives ruined and destroyed, and so much more ...

13. My thoughts exactly!
They seem to spring right into action to criticize a fellow Dem but can't seem to pull themselves together to, you know, criticize the bastard responsible for the loss of thousands of American lives.

BTW, I love the kitty icon you've got there ;)

Peace and democracy,
Melissa (22-year-old 'kitty lady'!)

23. BAH!!! That garbage is mostly an INVENTION by the corporacrats.
Welcome back, Melissa! :hi:

In a way, it's a good thing that the corporacrats are bitch-slapping the Dems every single time they fail to fully embrace and support fellow members. It's a stark wake-up call that WE MUST UNITE.

We also must learn that, we have as much power to manipulate the media as the media has to manipulate its viewers. Amazing that the media has become a force against the people rather than for the people. Greed and power are such corruptible forces.

 Now! Let's take the bastards down!!!!

25. I know the feeling
I was gone for two months.

Dean is a great democrat, a tireless leader, a plain-spoken American of the highest caliber.

The MSM is trying to crucify him once again. I don't think it will work this time.

I send money to the democratic party whenever the RepukeLites bash him and I tell them why I sent money

Dean Rocks! I bashed the bashers and encouraged the silent in my e-mails today and included my 2 cents to the DNC. I told them it is the first time I had sent them money and it was because of Dean.

Now 5 years into office, the Global Warming Treaty needs to be made palatable to dubby. Why don't we just get rid of the obstruction* and get on with life.
:grouphug:
Welcome back to all the other returning members. I see a lot of newbies as well. Thank You Dean for stirring the pot.

I felt the same way... VERY DEPRESSED because, Kerry concealed too fast in my opinion. It took me few months to come around and now I'm pissed and ready to fight!!! I am only here because of Dean, I feel that, Dean is only hope Democrat has to build up grassroots and I love the fact that, he is a fighting machine!!! I will only donate my money to DNC and individual candidate of my choice.

BTW... my 87 years old Mother loves Dean and she says, Dean remind her of FDR... FIHGTING MACHINE!!! This is what she said!

Welcome and lets fight this fight together!

33. Dean is great...the naysayers have done nothing at all
I agree....Dean inspires the base, and that scares the part of Democratic party that has prospered when the base had nowhere to go. Now we are coming home to roost and determined to break an egg or two as we do so. I'm sorry....ten years and all they could do was shoot themselves in the foot and lose the ENTIRE government while telling us they are brilliant strategists all the while.

been silent on those issues? Rather a tree falling in the forest sort of thing.

Is it possible that the media suddenly airs their comments when they are comments that "show" dissent?

So hard to tell these days.
