just heard on Discovery Times channel...
a show called "the perfect war" they said that by the time George Bush announced the start of the Iraq war American and British special forces already controlled 1/4 of Iraq. Interesting no?

3. Got news for you... Discovery Channel mentioned that in Afganistan

in July 2001 the US had a Task Force (Special Forces Team 574) on the ground (Discovery Channel show aired Jan. 30, 2003, I can't remember the title of the 'show'). Note the time period and they were weeks ahead of Sept. 11, 2001 !

I heard that and made a special note of it I was sooooo blown away hearing this. They were mentioned in a similar mode on PBS but not the fact they were doing 'spotting' for bombings...

6 months prior to the announcement of the start of the war that operation southern force which was specifically a no-fly zone was targeting infrastructure in Baghdad, specifically fiber-optic communications
