Limbaugh: Making Election Day a holiday won't help Dems because "[m]ost of
their voters don't work anyway"

Nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh declared that the Democratic Party's plan to make Election Day a national holiday, outlined by Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean at the June 2 "Take Back America" conference, won't "help them that much" because "ost of their voters don't work anyway."

From the June 2 edition of The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: The two to three big opportunities so far mentioned by Howard Dean -- pension portability and changes to election laws. ... So portability of pensions. What's the second one? Oh, yeah, Election Day a holiday. And well, you know -- I don't know why they need to do that. Most of their voters don't work anyway, so I don't know how that's going to help them that much. At least in a percentage basis.

3. He has it wrong, we are the working people, without us this country
would fall to it's knees. Not to mention we are the soldiers as well. We are the ones that have problems getting off work to vote or to stand in line for 10 hours. Haven't they arrested this drug induced pig yet?

9. I think we should declare a nation-wide Democratic strike,
have every Democrat stay home for a day, and let the pukes see just how many of us there are out here.

There wouldn't be an industry in the country, with the possible exception of the security (i.e., Blackwater) industry that wouldn't have to shut down for the day.

14. So that's where my Republican friend got that talking point.
It pissed me off royally when she told me that Republicans work (she's a stay at home mom) and Democrats don't (all of my Democratic friends: men, women and the one independently wealthy individual ALL work.)

Of course this woman did not vote during the last election. She was "too busy." She doesn't go to work and the kid was a t school. Oh well, once less vote for *.

Just as he should support the Fairness Doctrine, since the media has such an obvious liberal bias.

Edited on Fri Jun-03-05 02:04 PM by Jack Rabbit
Of course, he probably intended it as satire not to be taken seriously. Perhaps Rush should stop calling himself a journalist or news commentator and just call himself an entertainer.

Judging by the attention he gets around here, he must be entertaining. Otherwise, why listen to him? Certainly not for facts and information.

You get paid an obscene amount of money to sit on your fat ass and say shit like that. How about you try a little "work" and lose some of that lard that probably caused the back problems that got you hooked on Oxycontin, you endomorphic freak.
