C-span's Washington Journal doing a Saturday segment on DSM.
Look what I found on Daily Kos:

Washington Journal--need help for possible appearance
by ukiyo

Thu Jun 2nd, 2005 at 19:10:08 PDT

Going through today's email for DowningStreetMemo.com I found an invitation to appear on Washington Journal on Saturday--holy crap!
They're going to have a panel on the DSM story and they want me to talk about that but also the internet/blog angle as well.

The kicker, though, is that they said "ideally" I would go to their studios in DC. I told them I'd love to do it, but am in CA and asked if there was a chance I could be patched in remotely.

Assuming I get on, either via a local TV studio or even by phone, I've been out of town all this week and there are a few things I desperately need to get caught up on before Saturday....

Diaries :: ukiyo's diary :: :: Trackback ::

The invite refers to the "Downing Street memos", plural--does anyone know about a second document?

This may be related to #1, but I need to find out more on the news that the London Times broke on Sunday regarding the escalation of bombing in 2002. The Times story says the "new information" was provided by Sir Menzies Campbell, the Liberal Democrat foreign affairs spokesman, in response to a request to the Ministry of Defence. Can anyone tell me what this guy's position is exactly (and the US equivalent if applicable)? And is it really as simple as I'm reading it--that he just asked the Ministry for info on bombing in 2002 and got it? (I'm sorry, I'm not used to that kind of government--what do you call that and where can I get it?)

I've never seen Washington Journal (don't have cable)--what is it like? Is it a yelling show or do panelists actually behave civilly to one another? How does it work?

Any other info/advice you think might be helpful.

Thanks in advance for the help.

2. Why would Washington Journal ask a guest to talk about Downing Street
Minutes Memo who wasn't really sure what it was all about. :eyes:

I don't know the Kos Poster, but wouldn't they want someone in Foreign Affair in our Government who was familiar with the whole thing?

4. To support their contention that it is merely an internet rumor
couldn't have a so-called MSM journalist on to do it, it might lend it some legitimacy. Most folks in this dumb ass country hear blogger and think "conspiracy nut". Mark my words, CSPAN is not doing this to educate the unwashed masses but to try to ridicule the messenger. Be very cautious.

5. but also the internet/blog angle as well.

this concerns me. this is how they took election fraud out of mainstream media. pointing fingers at bloggers and calling them conspiracy theorists. and that was as far as election fraud was taken on msm
