Is the Big Dog exhausted or not? Why all the confusion?
Clinton staff disputes he's 'exhausted'
Former president to tour Maldives Sunday
Saturday, May 28, 2005 Posted: 9:19 PM EDT (0119 GMT)

CNN) -- Former President Bill Clinton will continue his tour of the Maldives and Indonesia in the tsunami-hit regions in Southeast Asia on Sunday.

Clinton's staff is downplaying reports that he is worn out. The Associated Press cites a U.N. official as saying Clinton cancelled a planned tour of tsunami-damaged areas of the Maldives Saturday because of exhaustion.

"The president is not exhausted, I am," said former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles, who is traveling with Clinton. "We're just trying to keep up with him."

Clinton underwent a procedure earlier this year to remove scar tissue and fluid buildup around his left lung. He underwent quadruple bypass surgery in September.

In February U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan appointed Clinton as his point person on the tsunami-affected region.

1. I'm sure he is
He's going to have to learn you cannot do things a breakneck speed with a heart condition. It will take him more than a year to get up to what he would consider his normal speed.

This is something most people who have never had a heart condition dont' expect.

3. Very true....
He probably just doesn't want people worrying or spectulating about his health, which is why they may be downplaying the "exhaustion" reports.

Whatever the case, I hope he takes care of himself. God bless him and the great work he continues to do.

4. He looks gaunt and old
He's 59 and I'd say he looks like he's about 72. I wish he would do more of this work from his desk at home.

6. Bless his heart, he really has aged since the surgery
He definitely doesn't look as young as he once did. That surgery really seems to have done something to him.

8. I think he's hot!
Yes he's grayer and thinner, but he's charasmatic. It's his hands that make me melt.

9. Hillary wrote about his hands in her book!!
And said that was one of the things she had always found attractive about him---his hands. And he once said that after her book came out, he had so many people walking up to him, wanting to see his hands, b/c of what she wrote in her book!

7. According to ABC News tonight , the story is bogus,
he's doing fine, and his schedule was interupted due to weather. So I don't know what to believe either.

11. He looks tired. His "peeps" are probably spinning it that it was the
weather so his public relations appeal doesn't slip.
