Howard Dean: "This is a Win for America - " and "a huge loss for the RW"
Edited on Tue May-24-05 03:15 PM by mzmolly
I think I'm feeling like Deanesque about this. He always sums things up so succinctly.

"I would be hesitant to say yet that it's a win for the Democratic Party," he said. "It's a real test of whether this is a real long-term agreement. That will come when we find out if the president consults with the Democrats," he added.

Dean also stated ...

In his interview with the AP, Dean said the accord "was a huge loss for the right wing... It was clearly a loss for the president because he was getting accustomed to ramming things through the House and the Senate without any confrontation. It was a win for America because minority rights were supported."

13. Relax , Sue
We bought some time. Next time the issue comes up (with the rethugs doing their whining bully number), it'll be closer to the 2006 elections: that is to our advantage.
Second, and more important, the RW LOOK like losers and FEEL like the lost and were "betrayed." Learn from KKKarl Rove: perception is damn close to everything and they look like a bunch of wild-eyed nuts who LOST. This has to be exploited. Not only that, the fun now really begins. Check out the RW websites (I know, you'd be polluting yourself, so look at some of our websites with quotes :-)). Sue, folks, the RW's are BALLISTIC and vowing revenge against the Republican "traitors." This could not be better. The other thing we have to do is exploit this rift. Do everything necessary to make it even worse. Push buttons. Reach out to the moderate Senators that are about to be vilified and screwed by their own.
No, I'm not happy that the possiblity of court-packing is still alive or that a bunch of nutty, incompetent fascists are about to be confirmed into our courts. But, I look at this event as being like the Battle of the Coral Sea. It looked like a draw at the time, but because of American persistence, cleverness and shrewd exploitation of Japanese overreaching afterwards, it started to look more and more like a victory and a turning of the tide, which it was.
So cheer up and gird your loins. WE NEED YOU IN THE FIGHT, BABY!

3. Dean is being very careful not to gloat.
And he's thrown the ball into bush's court. "That will come when we find out if Little Boots consults with the Democrats."

Well, okay, he didn't call him Little Boots ... but I'm sure he wanted to. :)

4. That's all well and good...
But remember, Dean's current job requirements basically boil down to:

1) Get Democrats elected
2) Act as head cheerleader for Democrats.

He's just fulfilling #2. It's his job to make Democrats look good.

15. No
He has issued a fatwa condemning the "traitors." The RW's think they lost big time. Let's encourage this thinking.

8. Well Dean's rhetoric is working very well....
The right-wing extremists everywhere are outraged, blaming everything on the GOP for this supposed "democrat" victory and wanting to hang republicans by the noose.

They are over the deepend in fact, bringing in full civil war.

Of course the compromise didn't really help anybody. But they aren't smart enough to find that out. :wow:

9. When in doubt, lie.
I thought Dean had more ethics. Just another politico feathering his bed at the expense of the truth.

He said it's not a win for us but a loss for the Right Wing. He also said only time will tell.

17. That's an accurate assessment.
It is definitely not a win for us. And it's apparently a loss for the right wing, based on what wrecks they are today. The poor little weiners can't stomach anything less than Total Victory.

19. I guess that's why I feel a bit of glee.
It's the first time in 5 years they've been  about anything. I hate to relish in the pain of others ... but, when Dobson is unhappy, chances are I'm not. LOL

glass is half full. This deal hinges upon agreement of 7 Repub- so called Moderates, deciding upon what extreme means.
