I have heard that he has been giving a "heads-up" lately that the administration may possibly be planning to more rapidly withdraw troops from Iraq in the coming year to prepare for operations in Iran shortly before the 06' elections.

It should be an interesting interview if Blitzer gives him sufficient opportunity to speak.

1. Oh, don't worry, Clark tends to keep Wolfie in his place.

2. Yep...heard that when he was in Chicago a couple of days ago...
He said that the war in Iran starts June of '06. Iraq is supposed to have U.S. troups drawn down this summer.

He was also talking about Civil War in Iraq quite a while ago. Well that's happening now.

Thanks.

3. Thanks Frenchie for the confirmation.
I wasn't there to hear it straight from the source, but have been reading it on posts over at CCN from people who were there.

There are powerful people in powerful places who will do anything to gain even more power in 06', and we need to be alert to that.

6. Great to see so many Clarkies!
I wasn't part of the original draft Clark movement but joined right after that. I really wish he would have hung in there for California so we could have shown him how much support he had out here.

Hopefully he and his team are a lot more media savvy. It drove me nuts listening to commentators talking about people who had dropped out rather than the amazing victories we all helped win for Clark.

7. Welcome to DU, Michael!!
:hi:

He had lots of support in so many states, but I think he saw that Kerry's momentum out of Iowa was insurmountable, and I think he genuinely believed he'd make a good nominee and a great president.

There are lots of Clark supporters here on DU! (So many in fact, that some aren't really thrilled about it, but you've got lots of company here!)

9. Ain't no way troops are coming out of Iraq
Not with civil war impending...even if we're instigating the civil war ourselves.

11. This afternoon on the 101 Freeway in
Southern California I spotted a "General Clark 08" Bumper Sticker on a van driven by a soccer-dad type middle-aged man - the category of voter probably most likely to have voted R of late. Clark is the one Dem who can reel those guys in, and the candidate the repukes would least like to have to face.
