Is aborting a fetus illegal in most states unless the mother is in danger?

I remember some DUers saying so and i told this pro-lifer that and hes saying "not true. abortion is legal throughout pregnancy."
So now I'm confused. Anyone know where i could even find this sort of info?

2. No, abortion is not illegal, Roe vs.Wade supercedes state laws

States can make some laws that put limits on abortion as long as those limits don't conflict with Roe. SOTUS rulings pertain to all states.

I believe the time limit is 6 months which is the point of viability unless the life of the mother is at risk.
