WTC plans that Trump is supporting
http://www.MakeNYNYagain.com

This is really awesome! The towers will look like the originals, but there will be structural changes to make them much stronger and safer. The original footprints will remain and memorials will be placed on them - the new towers will be set back 300 feet. A 9/11 Memorial Musuem will inter over 10,000 unidentified remains.

Here's some more info:

While similar in form to the Twin Towers, the new design, the team says, is built to be much safer. It has a steel skin built in two layers – a tube within a tube- that has much heavier columns and much greater, and redundant, structural support. The design also calls for larger windows for comfort and much improved fireproofing over the original. Other elements include two five-story memorials made of the original steel skin (with replicated steel), access to bedrock, and a list of victims’ names etched in granite.

The footprint-based memorials would be delineated with the first five stories of skin from the original Twin Towers or a replica. This, combined with the rebuilt Towers in the background would leave no doubt as to what happened, resulting in a powerful memorial. Within each footprint would be a circle containing half the flags of the 88 nations that lost people during the attacks and a granite wall with a non-hierarchical listing of those who died in that particular building. The north footprint could feature an arbor garden, while the south could feature a fountain. Both would be on a raised platform, shielding visitors from the noise of traffic below.

The 9/11 Memorial Museum would feature a Hall of Heroes where the actions of both uniformed service workers and civilians would be documented. This hall could feature the inducted heroes' photographs, each with a plaque bearing their name, and a synopsis of their actions that day.

Within the proposed 9/11 Memorial Museum, it is possible to inter the 10,315 unidentified remains of 9/11 victims, as well as the fine ash in Fresh Kills suspected of containing unidentified remains. The remains could be hermetically sealed and located in special vaults inside the building.

This really seems to satisfy the needs of everyone. Those who believe the towers should be rebuilt will get that. Those who believe the footprints should be preserved and/or a memorial should be built on them, will get that. The way this particular memorial is designed, with the steel skin surrounding the footprints, it seems so much more powerful because instead of a lot of empty space with a monument on it, we'll be able to see exactly where those towers stood and where those people died. JMHO :-)

1. Kick
I'll give it one kick - if it sinks like a stone again ... I'll take the hint, LOL! :P

Now I'm going back to watch the second hour of CSI. It's really creepy tonight.

2. I think we should make them out of paper mache.
Whether it's planes, explosives in the basement or nukes, they'll always be targets.

Might as well make them cheap to rebuild...

3. I don't think its going to happen
They've already been moving forward with their current plan. They would have to scrap what they've done (I'm not sure how much that is though). I read an article about this today and the people in charge didn't seem to thrilled with Trump.

There would probably have to be a lot of public pressure to get them to change their plans now.

4. I've always wanted them rebuilt as they were (superficially but with
improvements in safety) fuck those shitheads who killed our people, let them see our resolve.

5. I like it...
I'm no fan of Trump in any way. I think he's a total asshole but I like his ideas here. The skyline doesn't look the same without the Twin Towers. It'd also spit in the face of those that attacked us on 9/11 also.

6. I'm not a Trump fan, either ...
but he DOES know how to get things done and since I've wanted the towers rebuilt all along, I'm very happy with "The Donald" right now. :-)

7. I hope it happens
I think it'll be a nice payback to the neocons who allowed it to happen.
