Republicans Hold Tribute to DeLay, Democrats Work to Strengthen Ethics Rules

Tonight, the American Conservative Union Foundation is holding a tribute dinner to House Majority Leader Tom Delay. While Republicans raise their glasses and look the other way, House Democrats are doing spring cleaning. Rep. Marty Meehan (D-MA) and Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) will introduce the Lobbying and Ethics Reform Act of 2005. This legislation will increase disclosure, end lobbyist junkets, toughen enforcement, and slow the revolving door between Congress and K Street.
