The hasty retreat beaten by Condi Rice from Latin America tells us that
all the assassinations, bribes, propping up of dictators that the U.S. carried out over the past century have come to nothing. The U.S. policy in Latin America is in tatters overwhelmed by the power of the people. As true democracy, as against the fake democracy US style, takes hold the U.S. is becoming a laughingstock throughout Latin America, not merely incapable of imposing its will but losing in every arena of activity there. As Venezuela, Brazil,Argentina, Ecuador,Chile join the march to democracy the days of gringo imperialism have mercifully come to an end.

If there is anyone in this administration of rhino-gringos with a sense of history, they will pull back from the disastrous course they have embarked on in Iraq before a Latin American style democracy movement overwhelms us in the Middle East and elsewhere. But that is too much to expect from the imbeciles and raving maniacs who now occupy the seats of power in Washington D.C.
