Idiot Son Shrub Celebrates CINCO de Mayo on the FOURTH of Mayo

When last we checked in, Shrub was kicking off his pander-fest for Hispanics last night, with a "very intimate" dinner for the MEXICAN holiday, Cinco de Mayo, at which some of the prominent guests were CUBANS:

The Cuban family ties between the Gloria ESTEFAN Hispanic branch and Poppy have already been trotted out as they are on any Hispanic holiday. Gloria's niece is a co-host on an afternoon Univision fun/gossip program, and she is parked outside the White House "reporting" on tonight's "highly private" dinner for Hispanic guests (read, "millionaire entertainers"). Yes, so far it's -------CUBAN exiles---------who are front and center for a -----MEXICAN-----holiday. This niece is on some kind of A-list for getting invited wherever Poppy interfaces with Hispanic events. She makes some kind of disclaimer, like, "Regardless of politics, Democratic-Republican, I don't care about that, just that we Hispanics have special ties to this White House." So expect mariachis on CNN tomorrow.

**************So on her Univision program today, the ACTUAL Cinco de Mayo, she says that idiot son Shrub spent some LITTLE time with the guests, "because his every minute is counted," but he stayed a teeny bit longer when the musical requests kept coming, telling them that, what-the-hey, he would just stay up this night, just for them. But the kicker in her report was that Shrub told them that somehow this event had been scheduled that evening, which was the FOURTH of May, but that he would make sure he would get it scheduled NEXT year for the FIFTH of May!

When she started her reportage yesterday, setting the scene for last evening's dinner, it sounded like it was the START of festivities that would CONTINUE INTO the actual holiday today/the next day. Apparently not. She was back in her Miami chair today. She also kept emphasizing how "intimate" the event was, meaning VERY SMALL. Could it be that the Shrubbites find the border issues too hot a potato to play ball with just now?

The only celebrity names she mentioned yesterday and today was one Cristian CASTRO, who is a 2nd generation star, the son of two pop icons in Mexico, Veronica CASTRO (a Cher type) and El Loco VALDEZ, an old burlesque type comedian. In fact, only this Cristian dude and the Lili dudette were mentioned AT ALL. It looks like the Shrubbites can't attract big names on EITHER side of the border.

9. Lili ESTEFAN Told Her Co-host the White House Was Just Like Ours

She showed snapshots of last night's event the way Regis does. They were odd: No pics of anybody, no group at all. Just her standing next to a formal table that was not set for use, just empty. One pic of Shrub talking at a mic with a gaggle of mariachis behind him, the mariachis looking sort of puzzled. The other couple of pics were of empty rooms in the WH, whereupon she told the co-host, "The White House is SMALL----like your or my house." She and her pals all live in mansions, you know.
