CBS News: how far will recruiters go - High schooler does reporters' job
Did anyone see this on CBS news? A high school kid went undercover to a military recruiter's office to find out if they'd break the law to recruit kids. Guess what? Why don't adult journalists do this much work to get a story?

9. Chasing gossip
They're not interested in news - just gossip. I could read People Magazine if that's what I wanted.

*sigh*

3. That kid did a great job
Too bad so many of the MSM journalists forgot how to do this kind of reporting.

4. I read that and was somewhat shocked
but considering how desparate the military is...These guys would've never been reproached if the kid hadn't exposed it. The brass would've looked the other way. Count on it.

5. Did you hear the reporter's question?
"What made this young man do what he did?" Umm. It's called investigative journalism and some kid is doing your job.

10. There's a lot to be said for personal integrity
on the soldiers' parts. But I wonder what kind of pressure they've been under to up their recruit numbers... They're just soldiers, not officers.

11. I don't blame them personally
I'm sure they're under very intense pressure to get kids signed up. And they probably all know the tricks to get a willing kid in no matter what. I don't doubt it comes from higher up. There's a war on and there aren't enough people to fight it.

12. I saw that but what was far more disturbing imo was their footage
of Iraq from the past few days.
