This is why I'm not looking forward to going back home after finals...

Note: I went to High School with this guy's daughter. She's as big a fundie as her old man.

To the Editor

Re: Day Of Silence

I read with chagrin the report concerning the Day of Silence held recently in an area school, and reportly thousands of schools across the United States, and felt compelled to write concerning the state and condition of our United States concerning the issue of homosexuality.I had followed the incident a little and first want to commend the administration of the school on the way in which the day was handled by them.

It is important to remind ourselves of the sacredness of life and that all life is special and important. The overriding issue, however as reported on the Day of Silence website was to emphasis the homosexual agenda by "making gay and lesbian bias unacceptable in schools in a day-long vow of silence...." (www.dayofsilence.org )

It is reprehensible to see in America what is happening in regard to the moral, social and biblical understanding of the issue of homosexuality. As both an educator and a pastor, it is wrong for students to dishonor their teachers by not responding in class for whatever the reason. Students are in school to learn and to be taught via communication. The social agenda of any group, and especially that of promoting a sexual agenda contrary to world-wide understood norms is wrong and that abnormality ought not be accepted as normal behavior.

Biblically, the Bible is very clear on the issue of normal sexuality and in the condemnation of abnormal sexuality, fornication, adultery, beastiality, and homosexuality. God didn't destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because He disliked a lifestyle, it was the sinfulness of that lifestyle that brought about His justice. The Bible believer is right to side against sinful practices while not losing sight for the love of the sinner (John 3:16). Although all sin in the sight of God is sin, it is interesting to note in the last book of the Bible, The Book of the Revelation, that there are "category sins' that God says will not be in heaven and the Book makes it clear that sexual immorality is one of those category sins (22:15). With God there is always a remedy for a person or for a nation and that remedy is repentance. To honestly seek the forgiveness of sin from God and turn from a life of rejection to acceptance of the forgiveness, love and acceptance of a loving God. (Romans 5:8 and 10:9-10)

Thank You,

Franklyn Hazelo

Pastor Grover Community

At least here in Point, there are not as many asshats in a concentrated area as there are back home. Way to make Marinette County, espeacilly the Coleman Area look like a bunch of uneducated, inbread bigoted hicks, you tool. Fristians like you not only give Christianity a bad name, you also are the reason why suicide rates are so high amongst homosexuals.

I'd hate to be a gay person back home.

1. Notice none of the passages refer to homosexuality, only sexual morality..
which is objective. I think Pedophiles are immoral, rapists, etc. Not homosexuals.

I hate it when these right wing nut jobs assume that everyone is a fucking christian. He should be aware that there are people who aren't afraid of his God. People who are strong of mind and will, not weak and willing to live on their knees for fear of a myth.

3. His statement:
"The Book of the Revelation, that there are "category sins' that God says will not be in heaven and the Book makes it clear that sexual immorality is one of those category sins."

Wouldn't adultry & sex outside of marriage fall into the sexual immorality category? Perhaps those are ok, though, since so many fundies cannot keep their own marriages in tact.

But the real point to make here is this: Mr. Hazelo, I'm certain your beliefs are every bit as sacred to you as mine are to me, but you have no more right to force your beliefs upon me than I do to force mine upon you.

4. People like this really scare me.
Not only are guys like this major homophobes, they also have quite the misogynist streak in them as well. A lot of people like this brainwash their academically gifted daughters into squashing their talents and having them either marry out of high school or after earning their "MRS Degree" at usually a fundie college. Instead of unlocking their potentail in becoming doctors, lawyers, or scientists, these poor women end up becoming nothing more than stay at home baby facotries for their husbands. Sad, really.
