MY GOD, THE TROLLS ARE OUT THIS MORNING
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 07:24 AM by marshallplan
Could we appear any more devisive or hate-filled?

We have one poster asking how many people Clark's killed, another one talking about Dean's environmental record.

Clark's a set up for Kerry?

It's as if we've been infiltrated by Rove minions.

:wtf:

4. Yeah, the trolls are out all over the net right now.
Have run into them at several popular boards. Ah well, put on your tin helmets and on into the fray.

With the proliferation of porn on the net you would think they would find better outlets to get their nut....

7. Yes, they creap in here to vent their
frustration. Displaced anger is how I see it. I was brainstorming last night, thinking about a way to run interference when a suspected freeper swoops down. My creativity has its limitiations so don't laugh. What about a code phrase, like, "Who let the dogs out?" That then could be a clue to let the thread die.

There was a suggestion in "Ask the Admins" or "Bugs/Suggestions"
that it be possible to reply to a thread WITHOUT kicking it
back to the top. I think that was one of the best ideas I've ever
heard and would solve a lot of this by making flame-baiting less
successful as it would let folks vent on a thread without necessarily
providing even more exposure for the master baiter.

You may want to go support that suggestion.

14. It's Like That On Every Board
I am a huge sports fan ......

The flamers on the team boards will usually single out the most popular players for ridicule...

Then all the popular player's fans come to his "rescue" and the thread swells...

It is a tried and true tactic...

as in, DON'T POST TO THE THREADS, they'll die the quick death they deserve. I swear it's like watching Pavlov's Dog around here sometimes.

11. Republicans probably hire people to post on boards
There are companies you can hire to post your message on forums all over the web. This is a fact, no conspiracy theories needed.

16. Guys, either way,
the solution is the same: don't post to them. They obviously have an unrequited need for attention so they post flamebait threads. We GIVE them the power by keeping these threads alive.

20. LOL
People...It's politics for crying out loud and it is important. Quit crying or go to a thread about baking nut bread or watercolor techniques.

The fight is not only about beating Bush - it is about the future viability of the Democratic party and it's ability to fend off another Right-wing coup. After all that has come to pass, why support any insider or old-guard representitive candidate after they have demonstrated their incompetetence over the past 2 and a half years? Who wants a hollow candidate propped up by the power elite- as in the case of the Chimp, but who behind the scenes still promote the same sell-out policies? If the same old crowd gets in and alienate the people's concernsto scramble for the corporate buck, there will be an increasing migration from the party. What other choice is there? The writing on the wall. No pre-selections.

19. A job for unemployed telemarketers
or bill collectors. They're that pushy. I notice similiarities in their posts. Their posts are well thought out and I too believe they are professionally done. I can't just sit at my computer and throw out a flame that really scorches like they do and am completing my Masters.

21. Trolls = Fear
The RW must be deeply concerned that the general public is finally catching on to their corruption and lies.

It's going to take a lot of patience but we must keep on eyes on the ultimate goal of defeating this administration.

Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 08:35 AM by WoodrowFan
I saw that thread, I like FAIR but they tend to get over-wrought at times. Some folks here believe any "expose" the read online and breathless post it!

BTW, did you know Clark was seen planting explosives at the WTC towners on 9/10/01? It's true! He did it to please his alien masters in the Tri-Laterial Commission! :silly:

28. Kick THIS Thread Instead of Those
Posters like those, who attack other Dems-----while claiming to be idealists and serving humanity-----

1) are NOT going to vote Dem when the chips are down.

2)They are NOT providing any redeeming discussion.

3)Do NOT have an intellectual curiosity that will be shaped by the ideas of others.

All they do is to sneak under the radar and sow vileness and dissention.

Actually, they really ARE disruptors.

31. I am locking this thread.
Questions about Democratic Underground policies belong in the "Ask the Administrators" forum. All discussion topics relating to Democratic Underground policies, procedures, enforcement, etc., which are posted outside of the "Ask the Administrators" forum will be locked or deleted.

From the rules:

Do not publicly accuse another member of this message board of being a disruptor, troll, conservative, Republican, or FReeper. Do not try to come up with cute ways of skirting around the spirit of this rule. If you think someone is a disruptor, click the "Alert" link below their post so the moderators can deal with it. Unfortunately, it has become all too common for members of this message board to label anyone with a slightly different point of view as a disruptor. We disapprove of this behavior because its intent is to stifle discussion, enforce a particular "party line," and pre-emptively label a particular point of view as inappropriate or unwelcome. This makes thoughtful and open debate virtually impossible.
