we've had too many of them coinciding with sinking bush* poll numbers -- people are wising up to this game

prior to 9-11, bush*'s numbers were about where they are now (give or take a few points) -- after 9-11 he peaked in the 90%'s and has been dropping ever since with some spikes here and there, but generally his numbers have been in a downward track

meanwhile -- the current events have depleated his political capital account

my fear is that we may be looking at a LIHOP terrattack. yeah, there will be a terra-lert so they can say "gee we warned you" -- and either the "attack" will be "stopped" or damage held to a minimum so there is enough of a threat to scare people and still show that bush's war on terra is "working"

job approval numbers: approval range 48-49% disapprove range 46-48%

although I don't think busting the filibuster will have much of an impact on general public opinion -- it may give some of the more politically aware repugs a pause...

the worse damage will be done with social security and a blow-back from the current Delay scandals. bush/congress intrusions with the Terri Schaivo case may fade into the background unless the rabid-right tries to spin this into some sort of big-brother legislation.....which according to hints/rumors and other mentioning from various news reports is just what they are planning to do
