Will Bush be "Reaganized" in twenty years?
Will the Republicans deify Bush in the same way they have with Reagan? I predict them trying to name high schools, streets, and airports after Bush as well. He will be seen by the Republicans as the shining beacon from up on high, trying to bring this nation into a glorious new century in the face of the liberal/socialist agenda. They will also see him as the defender of freedom and vanquisher of heathen terrorists. You think it's bad now, wait twenty years from now. They will do it, mark my words. Albert Speer has got nothing on these people, they love to create monuments to themselves, a shear sign of totalitarianism.

1. No. Barring an absolute catastrophe, he will be even more revered.
These people will try to make him into one of the all-time greats.

6. Probably worse.
Evil is strong word, but accurate. This man has no scruples.

3. perhaps, but...

...So many people hate Bush, that stuff would be defaced or vandalized, I would bet. The country wasn't so polarized during Reagan's years.

5. Twenty years?
The "Reaganization" Canonization process is already in process.

Of course, Sainthood is not enough for them, as Bush is now protrayed as a God-like figure, in that God works through him and they are now somehow one in the same.

10. No- Bush is going to get the blame
for what Reagan SHOULD get the blame for.

In 50 years or so, historians will look back and put 2+2 together- and Reagan will get his due- but in the meantime, Bush will be the scapegoat.

12. Ding, ding, ding!
I agree - in fact, I think he will be "Hitlerized" in the sense that the general public didn't know how bad he really was until years later.

13. The United States will apologize and pay for Bush's actions for decades.
That is, assuming the Chinese don't cash in all our bonds and do a hostile economic takeover of our country first.

15. It depends on how our Chinese rulers inform us of what we're allowed to
say of history.

This, folks, is the end of our country. Our timbers will be kicked in soon.

21. No, he will be banished to the well of shame
When I was growing up, I heard a great deal about the rise of Hitler, the fall of Hitler and Hitler's crimes, there was very little said about the man. People literally banished him from their consciousness. I think that everything will come to the surface about Bush, how he mocked someone he condemned to die, the elections, 9-11, Iraq. People will talk a great deal of the recovery that comes next, but the neocons and their downfall will be never discussed. (And the bloggers will be seen as an active source for change, we will be remembered as the Good Guys!)

23. They might try but it will be more difficult
Raygun won his re-election with 59% of the vote and 49 states. Bush lost the popular vote last time and barely won it this time and was 100,000 votes in one state away from loosing the election.

Bottom line, Raygun was liked by a lot more people than Bush is. Raygun also didn't manage to piss as many people off as Bush has.
