2. Don't be afraid
The Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.

8. Of course, that's>>>>
the present poope's plan: to get someone as conservative as he is to carry on his legacy. But the holy spirit (if there is one) moves in mysterious ways: the best laid plans....

5. As I understand it
he has refused morphine which would have sped up the process. It allows people to just drift away.

9. I heard....
that the tradition is to select a Pope the exact opposite of the last one. What does that mean? Someone that everyone will hate? (Not a real question...just an example).

I'm not religious but he is MY most admired person.

10. There is a trend that a liberal pope follows a
conservative pope. Now what that will mean for a pope following this one is up in the air because JP II is really not either. Conservatives think he is liberal and liberals think he is conservative. People see him from their perspective and not from a position of truth.

BTW- The prophecies of St. Malachy which describe the popes with a short motto end with the pope following JP II the last in the list is Petrus Romanus - Peter the Roman. No pope has ever taken the name of Peter. Just an interesting tidbit.

12. And if they know the prophecy of St. Malachi, why would one use that name.

13. He may not use the name, Peter - his birth name might be
Pieto, Pierre, Pedro, Peter. Who knows, but it will be fun to watch.

11. there are too many of us asking him to "hang on".
People need permission to die. We are not giving him that.
