Poll question: If the polls were different would Jeb Bush had sent in the National Guard?
To remove Teri Schiavo from the hospice and insert the tubes? I will vote yes he would have. He knows his presidential ambitions would have been zilch. Thats why he didn't do it. Culture of life my ass. More like the culture of politics.

1. OF course
A trough-feeding opportunist like him absolutely would have.

2. No, because it would have been a stand off
with the law enforcement Judge Greer had already sent to the hospice.

8. There was no stand off at Kent State
The National Guard began shooting and the local police got out of the way. How many Ohio National Guardsman were arrested for murder by the police after they killed those students? None.

12. But the local police had not been posted there to protect
the students and the school. Greer sent law enforcement to protect the patient and the hospice.

14. ALL police exist "to protect and serve". That is their motto

The Ohio police did neither at Kent State. Think about it for a moment.

15. The local police had handled the entire situation badly.
Protect and serve whom? As a retired NYPD detective said to me, "We protect property; we don't protect people."

4. Either way, i think you can already nix his presidential bid.
No way in hell are the fundies going to vote for him now, and there's no way he'll win a primary without the fundies.

5. no, because there was only a few hours of window of opportinity before
Judge Greer put the restraining order on any move!! Bush would have been in contempt of court--. Handcuffs anyone??

They want Bush to kidnap her if that's what he has to do.

9. I think they underestimate public reaction.
They knew there would be some opposition, but I honestly think they were surprised and how much opposition their was, even from many they thought they could count on to help them in their sick crusade. That also explains why they are laying low right now, waiting for it to blow over, working on damage control and spin to cut their loss and move on to the next agenda item.
