Does anyone know...
Have any news stories on Schiavo been mentioning the law Bush signed that allows doctors to pull the tube on patients - even over the objections of their family - if they can't pay?

See here: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/3073295

This is such a golden wedge issue for us. We should be sending mail and phone-banking every Christian conservative on this. I mean, this is almost as good as Bush's abortion as far as wedgies go. If Terri were in Texas, the only reason she'd be alive is the entitlements Bush want's to dismantle and the malpractice suits he wants to stop to pay for the out of control costs of a medical system he doesn't want to reform. And this family won't be able to declare bankruptcy to get out of their debts.

2. Not really the point...
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 02:20 PM by Memekiller
The point is, if you are against pulling the tube when the family wants to, certainly you can't be for pulling the tube when the family wants to care for her, but the hospital doesn't think you can afford it. Any person the GOP is targetting with this will be offended by Bush's signing of this law. They ought to know about it.

Start up the phone banks! Wedge away!

(And yes, Bush signed the law in Texas.)

3. Not worth 2cents if you don't bother to base it on facts.
Go research the facts and you will find that the settlement is almost gone and find out how her medical care is being paid.

4. Isn't that good for us?
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 02:23 PM by Memekiller
It means, according to Bush's law, Schiavo would be executed over the objections of her family.

(Update: I see, you're replying to Dudeman. A troll, methinks.)
