German jobs - sold to the lowest bidder

BERLIN (Reuters) - A website in Germany, where unemployment numbers are at a post-War record of 5.2 million, is inviting people to compete for jobs by stating the minimum salary they would accept.

Whoever is willing to earn the least wins the post listed on internet auction site www.jobdumping.de.

"We wanted to provoke people into the realisation that we have to speak about salaries and be prepared to negotiate on them," said website founder Fabian Loew.

A domestic cleaning job has so far received seven offers, with 9.0 euros an hour the current leading bid. But with more than nine days before the auction closes, that figure is set to fall.

2. GM did something similar
they told the workers at a Saab factory in Sweden and an Opel factory in Germany that one of them would be closed. So it was up to the workers to compete on who could work the most for least. Why do I have the feeling that the world is moving backwards into the future?

3. Don't most job applications have a spot that says, "Salary desired"?
Same idea. Just not quite so blunt.
