One would think there would be more important stories to carry.

Evidently, today's 49 to 51 Senate vote allowing oil drilling in Alaska's wildlife refuge deserves no comment. Especially since republicans avoided the necessity of getting 60 votes to break a filibuster. They did this by simply including future oil revenues from the refuge in the budget.

This is a terrible precedent. The republicans have just found a new way to circumvent the democratic process by including hypothetical revenues in the budget.

Will the importance of this story ever be discussed by the mainstream media outlets?

Watching CNN has become about as enriching as reading the National Inquirer.

2. Even the media can't face the news of the day.
They know they helped put bushie back in office, and now that can't face the consequences.

4. I believe you are right. I never saw it that way before.
To carry stories about genuine republican misconduct is to admit they are party to the crime. I wonder how we could use this to our advantage.
