15. I fail to see the logic in that, or the point of this poll for that matter
Do *some* Democrats abuse their children or spouse? Yes, some do? So don't necessarily assume child abusers are bad people?

Same "logic" in both cases.

21. Let me clarify... A recent poll out in media-land claimed that most Hummer
owners were Bush supporters. This poll bears that out generally; I'm suprised the Hummer owners were as high as they are.

The Hummer a gas guzzling behemoth that is ex-Army conjurs images of Yahoo Cowboy NeoCon Selfish person, in my mind and in the minds of many others. Ergo.. totally relevent and appropriate topic in this gas-war era.

4. Ugly--just for style reasons Hummer owners should hide in shame.
Yuck.

But of course Dems own Hummers. My favorite actor, who is not a Republican, owns one.

Some people don't know too much about gas-guzzling/oil prices/etc.
Some people just don't care because they have other things to worry about.

7. Get this: I live in a southern suburb and just heard
that our local police department is going to start buying Chevy Tahoes for use as police vehicles.

I kid you not.

This is in a city that just cut school funding by 76% because the city is (according to the city council) practically bankrupt.

27. The consumer version is hardly an "urban assault vehicle"
More an urban fashion offense, only barely fit to drive to the grocery store. Those Hummers are notoriously poor off-road vehicles.

I do confess to a certain wistful longing regarding the military version (machine-gun mount optional).

Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 08:24 PM by spenbax
for my nephew who is coming home from Iraq tomorrow and he wanted one for Christmas. We are all holding our breath until his plane touches down because they say leaving is the most dangerous part of being over there. WAHOO! He knows he'll have to go back in a year, but at least his first tour is (almost) over and he's ok. Damn Bush.
