Bum start for CNN's Zahn and Cooper
Best hopes for stemming slide against Fox News

CNN's hopes of reclaiming No. 1 from Fox News Channel were dealt a major setback this week with the disappointing premieres of “Anderson Cooper 360” and “Paula Zahn Now.”

The audience for “Cooper” on Monday was down 47 percent in the 7 p.m. time slot occupied last year by “Crossfire,” to 319,000 people, while “Zahn's” audience of 508,000 people was down 45 percent in the 8 p.m. time slot briefly occupied by the canceled “Connie Chung.” All figures are based on preliminary Nielsen Media Research data.

CNN's new programs pulled in roughly one-third the viewers of competing shows on Fox News. Most notably, “Zahn” faced “The O'Reilly Factor,” which was watched by more than 1.4 million people despite having a guest host on Monday.

1. Good
they are both lazy and dimwitted.

IF they were smart, CNN would pick up Keith Obermann again.

2. he has another date...
...at MSNBC. Olbermann is great. Cooper is okay. Zahn is a self-righteous, cold twit.

14. I really like Keith Olbermon
I like his wit, his style and I especially like the musical accompanying segments. It's a good format and he has a great voice and feel for the news. I didn't know he had ever been on CNN. As amatter of fact, I had never heard him at all until someone mentioned him on DU. I tuned in and have been a fan ever since.

8. Enterprising I'll give you
"Best" Only in the context that there is absolutely nothing else ON. Period. Zero, zip, nada, zilch. Nothing. The Void. The ABSOLUTE Void. Nothing. Yeah, Olbermann looks pretty good compared to all that.

Yeah, I watch him, but half the time I want to slap him upside the head. And those fine qualities that brings that tendency out in me seem to be increasing on his part. Pretty soon I'll put HIM in The Void too.

(Your taste is in your mouth, newsguy! )

6. Hey CNN! Do the math...

Before: Crossfire pulls in healthy ratings in the 7 pm slot.
Now: Gloria Vanderbilt Jr has lost nearly 50% of Crossfire's ratings

Now, I thought y'all were in the TV business...you must be following MSNBC's brilliant lead in replacing a successful non-wingnut show with a Fox News ripoff that can't attract flies.

PUT CROSSFIRE BACK ON AT AN HOUR WHERE PEOPLE CAN FUCKING WATCH IT!!!

GET A BRAIN, MORANS!

edit - I suck at bold

7.  when cnn decided to
go to the dark side it didn`t realize they were never going to win.maybe if they would see the light they`d get better ratings. after all keith is really the only fair and balanced guy out there and his program rocks. cnn needs to dump their whole idea that only right wing, ass kissing bush republicans buy soap and really become fair and balanced.

12. It's like trying to out-evil Satan
Fox, like Satan, has one thing they do very, very well. Why the dumbf---s at CNN thought they could better (or is that "worse"?) than Fox we'll never know.

Election season is starting - put the smartest political show on TV Crossfire back to an hour and back in it's timeslot at 7 or better yet at 8!

And what's even funnier is Paula had her big interview Monday with Poppy.

10. Clue Phone for CNN:
Do some real reporting.

Demand that your reporters ask hrd questions at the White House. If their credentials are revoked or limited, raise hell about it. This is a legit issue.

Who knows? You could start a trend where the general public becomes a bit more trusting of the mainstream media once again.

11. I don't understand the title, "Paula Zahn Now".
As compared to "Paula Zahn a Bit Later", or I thought "Paula Zahn Concepts", or "Paula Zahn and Things" sound more comfy and suburban.

13. Paula Zahn is a smug idiot freeper.
The way that she gushed over GHW BUSH the other night, gave me the impression that she just got done blowing him before the show. it was really disgusting. No, no slant there.
