Does anyone have a list of democrat Hollywood actors.....
who has served, versus the repuke actors who didn't? My "friend" sent me an E-mail about the "Hollywood" actors who "hate America" and are against bu$h's illegal war....who oppose this blood thirsty tyrant. Anyone who is against all this killing, automatically is branded UN-American and told by the rightwingnuts to "leave the country". I am sick of them saying that, when all we care about is the thousands of people dying needlessly for Bu$h's political gain and wanting to be God instead of just a "president".I can't understand people in this country today....how can they be against abortion and support the right to life and then turn around and support all the killings of US troops and other men women and children in another country who hasn't done a damn thing to harm us? Geesus....if this isn't the twilight zone we are living in right now then I don't know what it is....

I really can't think of any actors off the top of my head who have served (aside from people of WWII age).

3. I didn't know that about Ben.....
All I know is,the rightwing scumbags are slamming the Hollywood actors for speaking out against bu$h and his warmongering. It's really pathetic.

Everyone in Hollywood is a democrat, why else would we constantly here about how evil they are.

But in case your wondering Brad Pitt is a big democrat who campaigned for Kerry.

On Edit: Jon Favrau, he starred in and WROTE Swingers, my bad, he is still a repuke though.

2. "Democratic"
is a better adjective....

that 'Democrat Wars' stuff started around when Dole ran for VP. They hate the word 'Democratic' because
a. it points out how we are deriving our tenets from more ancient traditions than they and
b. It is a way of utilizing the word pejoratively. Like we use Repub or Rethug.

They started it of course...

Good luck in your quest.

29. Not only is it a better adjective it IS an adjective
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 08:48 PM by DuaneBidoux
"Democrat" war or "Democrat" recession, or "Democrat" prosperity doesn't exist. There is no word that is Democrat that is an adjective. Democrat is a noun: period (get it?).

They don't want to use Democratic party because then how can you say you support Democratic countries and not support the Democratic party? Well...uh...you can't!

34. I'm really sorry for the way my posts sounded....
I'm on a diet,am hungry, and my son is giving me fits. I've had trouble with my computer and am ready to clobber my husband. In fact,my dog is beginning to think her name is bastard or son-of-a-bitch,and probably is thinking of running away from home. Then,on top of it all,I have to wake up everyday knowing that bumbling idiot is running rampant trying to ruin this country and it's people forever...and I keep thinking and wishing his 4 years was up already but then that would make me 4 years OLDER....shit...anyway,here's right back atcha! :hi:

14. Here is a list of politicans.
Democrats who did serve (a long list) and Republicans who did not (also a long list). Since we constantly hear that the opinions of entertainers don't matter, what does it matter whether they served or not?

15. Here are a few current/recent actors
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 01:21 PM by Mabus
Larry David (Seinfeld) was in the reserves.

Alan Alda: Served in the U. S. Army, and he went AWOL every weekend because he was dating the woman that he ultimately married, Arlene. http://imdb.com/name/nm0000257/bio

Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, although I consider him more a DINO): Astin has appeared in more than 25 motion pictures, few know that he has served as a civilian aide to the secretary of the Army since 1995. He served under Togo West, Louis Caldera and now the current Secretary of the Army Thomas White.

Harvey Kietel served in the Marines http://imdb.com/name/nm0000172/bio http://www.newsmeat.com/celebrity_political_donations/Harvey_Keitel.php

Gene Wilder: Served with U.S. Army, 1956-58. Has been a staunch liberal Democrat for many years, and was staunchly against the Vietnam War. He is now against the War in Iraq. http://imdb.com/name/nm0000698/bio

(edited subject line to be more coherent.)

27. False
Reagan did serve in the Army -- he was in the cavalry. However, he remained stateside making army training films and never saw action.

However, John Wayne another rightwing icon never served at all.

30. Reagan did, however,
like to recount war stories of liberating camps in Germany....which, of cousse, he never did. Apparently, he confused his movies with reality. But when Reagan lied, is was "lovable" and "folksy". And when Bush lies, it's for the good of the country.

33. Here are some lists
Here are some sites which list some of Hollywood's military veterans.

http://www.ess.uwe.ac.uk/genocide/reviewsw67.htm
http://www.enterstageright.com/archive/articles/0300hollmil.htm

This next site has a pretty comprehensive list if you can stand wading through the RW lunatic drivel and the background music. Someone ought to email this guy and let him know that many of the heroes he lists on his site were/are loyal DEMOCRATS!!
