52 warnings! I really find it hard to believe that ANY American official would ignore these warnings. Do you think it's possible that people didn't tell him? Is it possible that Rove, Rice & Cheney didn't tell him, and wouldn't let the people from the FBE, FAA, CIA, etc get to him?

was so bizarre that he had to have known something. Come on, did anyone in the entire country sit back and read a book to children when they heard about the attack? And this man is the president!

He is supported by Evangelicals. A terrorists attack would rally them for the cause to protect Christianity from the evils of non-Christians and free thinkers. Consider lately the crap they have been trying to do. Bin Laden's goal was to get those fools angry and cause this mess. He knows that Evangelicals would destroy this nation without any effort from him at all.

Yes, I'm bitter. Constant unemployment is driving me mad. I think my resumes and applications are going into a black hole.

5. Let's assume that's true- He definitely heard the August 6th PDB
and it was, at that point, if he was considered to be too stupid to understand this without slow and detailed explanation, the responsibility of people like Rice to TELL him, since SHE knew (and had, as we had confirmed today, ignored urgent requests to discuss this). There's also no way he couldn't have been informed about the security precautions for G8 that involved the same principles of attack. Finally, and it always comes down to this, EITHER he is a total incompetent moron who couldn't get out of his seat when informed that the nation is under attack OR he knew all about it and let it happen.

11. Conspiracy Fact...
Rice testifies before 9/11 commission: more cover-up and lies
By Barry Grey
9 April 2004
Use this version to print | Send this link by email | Email the author

Thursday’s hearing of the national commission to investigate 9/11, which took testimony from Bush’s national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, was a bipartisan exercise in cover-up and duplicity. It was all the more grotesque, occurring as it did against the backdrop of US war crimes in Fallujah and other Iraqi cities that have already taken thousands of civilian lives, and led to more deaths and injuries of American soldiers who have been fed a non-stop diet of lies by those in Washington who authored the colonial enterprise.

That Rice could claim, “Today, along with many allies, we are helping the people of Iraq and Afghanistan to build free societies...to spread the blessings of liberty and democracy as alternatives to instability and terror,” without being challenged by a single member of the commission—Democratic or Republican—points to the real purpose of the commission. Its primary political task is to conceal from the American people the connection between the tragedy of September 11, 2001 and US imperialist policy in general, and the conspiracy hatched by the Bush administration to invade and occupy Iraq and seize its oil resources, in particular.

With the US government engaged in murderous actions that are inflaming public opinion throughout the Muslim and Arab world, Rice’s contention that the “war on terror” is staunching the growth of Islamist terrorism and enhancing the safety and security of ordinary Americans would be laughable, were not its implications so catastrophic.

The real question before the commission is not some “intelligence failure” prior to 9/11, but to what extent the Bush administration and top-level figures in the intelligence and military establishment pursued a deliberate policy of allowing a hijacking to occur, in order to create the pretext for implementing a pre-existing agenda of using military force to establish US imperialist hegemony in the oil-rich Persian Gulf and Caspian regions.

More truth...

27. And your point is?
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 08:07 AM by The Backlash Cometh
This thread has nothing to do with homeschooling, thus the reason for my response. As for the comments made in another thread, I made very clear what bothered me about homeschoolers. Here's a synopsis:

I generally couldn't care less about someone's choice of education, however, the homeschoolers in my area, which are generally right-wing Christian nutcases that can't afford private parochial tuition, feel they have to justify their decision by tearing down the public school system. Nobody ever seems to defend the public schools, so I thought I would. My kids have done wonderfully in public school! I could never be more pleased. So it distresses me that so many people talk down public schools when my experiences and those of my children have been nothing but favorable.

Not only do I have to hear this crap from my in-laws but even the papers are weighing in. An article was printed in a hometown paper that nearly dedicated a full sheet of white space harolding a homeschooler at the expense of her public school teammates. She was on the team because, even if she's homeschooled, she can still try-out for public school sports, which I happen to agree with. The article proceeded to tell how this homeschooler was the nicest kid on the team and how horribly the kids last year treated her and how this year she's having a positive effect cleaning up everybody's language. It was, a public relations disaster of an article. I happen to know the kids involved and the child is sweet, but her niceness can also be attributed to being very shy and very quiet. There is at least one other girl on that team that is easily, truely a nice child. Extroverted, kind, self-sacrificing. You name it. But the article didn't recognize the other girl, nor her qualities, because it didn't fit in with the stereotype it was trying to create.

So, point one was, that I have a big problem with people who justify private school decisions by tearing down the public school. Do it if you like because your daughter or son needs one to one attention because he can't focus in big classes; do it if you like if you want to reinforce your religion; but don't tear down the public schools because there isn't enough tax dollars to customize your child's education.

Point two: Is really an outcrop of point one. Nearly half of my education was in a private school setting and the attitude of the people I met was one of snobbery. They lived in secluded, gated-community type settings, and they have always been separated by the masses. Most had jobs waiting for them at daddy's business and couldn't care less about mingling with people that they saw as potential hired help. So, if someone is going to homeschool, I assume that finding a way to get the child to mingle with kids of diverse background is also part of that education, which generally doesn't happen around here because, people justify their homeschooling decisions by tearing down public schools. Capiche? The reason they left was to get away from the people they need to learn to get along with.

Those are my grounds of disagreement. That's the kind of home-schoolers that I deal with in my area.

29. And that has to do with Bush not getting prewarnings for 9/11...how?
You went off tangent in this thread, which I do believe they call, hijacking the thread. If you have a boner about my homeschooling beliefs, tough. If you believe in your homeschool, then do it, but don't do it by trashing public schools. That's when I'll jump into the argument and start asking some hard questions about why you can't make something work that seems to work for me.

32. And if you are a typical, humorless Dem,...
...that explains why the Dems can lose elections (sorta) to a nitwit like GW. If you are incapable of detecting irony -- a form of humor -- in my original post, meant as a joke, "tough," as you so maturely and eloquently put it.

I personally couldn't give a shit about homeschooling one way or another. On one hand, I wouldn't trust most people to housebreak a dog, much less educate their children; on the other, my experience of "professional" teachers makes me believe that their job involves more encouragement of conformity than it does actual education, and that they are frequently hopelessly inadequate people who need to be surrounded by children so they can have power over somebody...anybody. Hard choice on which is the lesser of these two educational evils.

36. Nope, not even that would do it
If I recall correctly, there were rumors of Jeb Bush having an affair... soon afterwards,it was leaked that Bush's wife was having mental problems and had become extremely demanding. So, if the rumors of the affair came out, he'd be able to blame it on his wife.

Bush could be video taped getting fellatio from a 10 year old boy while saluting a picture of Hitler and shouting "Sieg Heil!" and the media would jump all over the person making the video tape.

33. The dog that did not bark
<snip>

There is one more thing that should be in this video and isn't, and that is the Secret Service, the protective detail whose one and only job is the President's safety.

The fictional Sherlock Holmes solved the crime in "Silver Blaze" deducing that it is the owner of the house who is the criminal. How does he know? Because the dog did not bark. The only criminal who could could carry out the crime and not arouse the dog was a criminal the dog already knew as a friend, the dog's owner.

Now let us turn our Sherlockian logic on 9-11. Hijacked aircraft were wandering across the eastern half of the country. In theory nobody could have known how many there are or if more planes were not in the process of being hijacked. How could they? Two of the planes had crashed into the World Trade Center. There is an airport only four miles from Booker Elementary School, and Bush's presence at the school was in the news media days in advance. The Sarasota Herald Tribune announced Bush's visit to Booker on September 8th, given the 9-11 planners three days to include Bush as a target for a diving jetliner. Nobody could have safely assumed he was not a target.

And yet the Secret Service did not rush in and remove the President to a secure location, or at least to the safety of the armored Presidential Limousine. That's their job. That's what they do in the case of a real surprise attack with so many unknowns. They don't do anything else.

But the Secret Service did nothing. The dog did not bark.

<snip>

with all these warning and everything else that has come out,is the constant explanation that "the FAA did not find it credible", or "The CIA did not react" etc.

What I would like is for some journalist to name names. Who at the FAA did find it credible? Who decided that the warnings were not important? Agencies are run by human beings making decisions. So lets get some names. Who was in charge? Who decided to do nothing? Did any one complain?
