Question for those who remember just about everything
Sometime in either 2002 or 2003 some reporter (I think it was a reporter, but I could very well be wrong) called Colin Powell a particularly nasty racist comment. I can't remember who it was, but the comment was about him being the "house n*****" in the * administration. Does anyone remember who it was? I believe it was also made because it was said because Powell didn't seem to be standing on his own two feet, and pretty much did everything that "Massa *" wanted him to do.

I was asking because now with Powell gone, will Rice now be considered for that same role in the administration? Or will she now be upgraded to a more "Sally Hemmings" type role by certain groups?

10. well...
a lot of the ones I know are not very mainstream, but Immortal Technique has DEFENITELY used the line to talk about Powell.... I keep thinking Ice Cube said something along those lines as well, but I may be wrong on that one. Also, Dead Prez possibly raps about it at some point. Maybe I just have rap on my brain right now.... I'll try to dig up some more on it.

9. Thanks, everyone
I was able to google it with more info, and yes, it was Belafonte who seems to have intiated the comment, and the press ran with it from there. Thanks. :)

11. yeah, Belafonte did say this...
During a radio interview, Belafonte compared Powell with a "house slave" -- a harsh insult in black culture.

was it that, maybe?
