Are We Helping Fox News?
This might be a little convoluted, but ...

Are we inadvertently helping Fox News?
CNN, in most polls, has lost the "most watched news channel" title to Fox (Faux) News. I wonder if this has something to do with us, since most all liberals have stopped watching CNN because we think it is too conservative and almost no conservatives watch CNN because they think it is too liberal. This behavior would, by default, benefit Fox News.

An analogy might be if Democrats didn't vote in the next election - Bush would win by default because Republicans would be the only ones voting (besides swing voters, who are usually close to a 50/50% split).

I'm not suggesting that everyone run out and watch Headline News, it's just an observation.

1. Maybe, but I doubt it...
there just aren't enough liberals or conservatives acting together to change it that much... I suspect it's just advertising.

2. Good question
But unless you're being tracked, can watching them help your numbers?

4. According To Eric Alterman
It doesn't really matter since CNN commands higher ad rates than Fux. Apparently, CNN attract a more educated and professional audience than the assclowns that watch the other network.

5. Absolutely.
They will use this as a stunt to legitimize themselves as fair and balanced from here on out. Thirty years from now when children ask their enfeebled, senile freeper grandparents if they ever believed Fox's blatant and obvious propaganda back in the dark time of the b*sh presidency, the reply they'll hear is: "Whaddya mean, Fox hosted the Democrat Debate back in Ought Three."

6. Do you really think fox will last that long?
News agencies do not usually have that long of a lifespan.

8. no -- why support a statist tv organ?
you don't get the facts -- you get the facts as the state authorizes.
to continue the charade that cnn, fox or msnbc provide real news does the citizenry a disservice.
