I was at the Vietnam Memorial today
Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 05:27 PM by Heaven and Earth
the souvenir stands nearby were selling Bush-Cheney Inaugural pins

does anyone else feel like that is obscene?

One good thing was that I overheard one of the guides there drawing parallels betweeen Vietnamization and Iraquification, with the disclaimer that it was purely his own opinion.

4. Look at the "bright" side...
Bush/Cheney are doing their best at helping out the memorial-building industry. Sigh.

3. You know what else I find obscene?
Not knowing how many names are going to appear on the Iraq War Memorial when it is built years from now.

With the way things are going now, in 50 years they'll probably deny we even had a war
