Be careful of what you wish for
I was just over in Freeperville and they're just drooling (more than usual) at the thought of Dean getting the DNC chair

I'm not a big fan of Dean, but I have to think that maybe having him as DNC chair wouldn't be that bad after all.

He's a known quantity--nothing he does is going to really surprise anyone.

He's going to be a lightning rod for the wingnuts. That may not be a bad thing.

If he can pull some of the so-called party leaders in line, maybe this will work. It may take someone like Dean--someone who can motivate the grassroots--to smack this party into shape.

I wonder what they'll say if he does win and he is successful.

4. I hope so
especially since his election is becoming more and more evident every day

I'm just wondering how many office-holders we'll lose when and if he is elected

you know a few are going to take their toys and go home

8. Huh?
Why would Dems lose office-holders because he is *gasp* DNC chair? What exactly is it that you think he'll do that will make hordes of people quit the party?

11. Those few will be very few and they should have taken

2. Why are they drooling over it?
That makes no sense.

I remember reading that Rove was supposedly drooling over the prospect of a Dean nomination. He allegedly had lots of scandal on Dean. I always thought that was just a scare tactic. They were afraid of Dean because he spoke the unvarnished truth.

Let them run in circles like the rabid dogs they are. Who cares?

6. False bravado.
Been around Freeper types? They always talk tough, with lots of military jargon thrown in.

Inside, they fear Dean.

If Dean gets the chair, the hateful attacks from the right will become hysterical.

5. Dean 'll be great..
He has a track record as a moderate, truth be told... and he'll be
an outstanding chair for the DNC.

Bugger the slimy fools in fresno... they're like lice crawling around
on unwashed minds.... to make decisions based on lice is all a bit
ridiculous.

7. Dean is about the party's last chance to keep me.
If DNC goes to another Repub-Lite head, I will be over at Green Party HQ sometime the next day.

9. Any lurkers from the DNC? You won't get a penny from me
if Dean doesn't get the chair. Now that I am a widow and find myself in a lower income bracket, I want my contributions to count. I don't think the other candidates will provide the leadership for Democrats that Dean will. It's time for our party to get back to its base. Since Dean is really a moderate despite the extreme leftie our own DLCers tried to paint him as during the campaign, he will be a good force for uniting all Democrats.

Also, I don't care what the freepers think. Soon they will find themselves isolated and having Kool-Aid withdrawal syndromes after BushCo stops giving them the Kool-Aid propaganda they crave to assuage their consciences. It will happen. The Bushlers are starting to get cocky and will start being less accommodating in their propaganda lies.

Same thing happened with Nixon.

12. I'm not worried about Dean as DNC chair. It's a great position for him.
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 12:15 PM by UdoKier
I was a big supporter of his during the primaries, but I was always painfully aware of his propensity to shoot his mouth off unnecessarily (confederate flag comments, etc.)

In the DNC position, his passion and principles can be put to use to hopefully reinvigorate this dead-as-a-doornail party from being a stopgap party of semi-obstruction, to one that actually tries to push FORWARD an agenda of social and economic justice and sensible foreign policy.

I don't think he could possibly be any worse than Terry McAwful.

13. I want a FIGHT
I want Dean, and I want him to stir a fire in the Dems of this country. I think he can bring us together as a cohesive group with a cause - something we are sorely lacking.

14. I agree with you
The Democratic party needs a fresh face and new ideas and Dean's the man do to it.

Wouldn't it be funny if with Dean as DNC chairman the Dems take back both houses of Congress and the Presidency. Wonder what the Freepers would say then.
